I hope not. In real life, people have their sexual orientation and I'm not going gay just because some guy wants to pursue me. Just like gay guys aren't likely to go straight just for some woman who happens to be nice or cool or whatever. Similarly, characters have their own personalities, backstories and orientations. They need to leave it the way it is now. Some characters are gay, lesbian or bisexual.
I'm not ****ing because my Male Shepard doesn't get a shower scene with Samantha Traynor. I'm not ****ing that Steve is gay, or that Kaiden and Allers are bisexual. I don't care. Some things in life aren't available due to your choices. Just like some people aren't attracted to members of the same sex, or have hair color preferences etc.
BioWare caving in here and changing sexual orientations for some established characters just isn't the right move here. I'd rather that money and time be spent on making the Normandy not crash and the galaxy not suck at game's end.
Because in real life reapers are really trying to harvest the galaxy. Also in real life, humans with implants can move things with their mind. Furthermore, in real life, if a person crash lands on a planet and dies, they're able to be brought back from the dead. Never mind that a considerable lack of oxygen makes that impossible. No, it's more improbable that in a future where people are racially ambiguous, perhaps people have gotten over that whole distinction between sexuality and gender, but then again reading this thread, perhaps not. Funny how we pick and choose what would or would not happen in real life as far as suspension of belief...
Being gay, or lesbian or bi or asexual or pansexual isn't the same as having a personality trait. No one can "seem" gay. Stop saying it. It's offensive. I proudly support all bi romance because it gives people options in a video game, a game that isn't real life.

However, considering how some people, for one reason or another, have a problem with certain combinations, why not have this be a setting at the very start of the game where you simply tick the applicable boxes?
SEXUAL CONTENT
■ Straight
■ Gay
■ Lesbian
■ Interspecies (Hanar!! lol)
etc.
This would allow a player to craft the story according to personal preferences, and also avoid any unwelcome attention from a character you're simply trying to be nice to. You can of course select none of the above and get a story without any such elements and only have friendships.

The brotherly chemistry between male Shepard and Garrus would take a massive hit if he was gay.
. . . You do know that a lot of the scenes between a Shep and Garrus friendship and a Shep and Garrus romance are almost identical? Dude loves you either way, whether or not you're having biologically awkward sexual relations.
Don't get me wrong, like I said above I'm perfectly okay with Garrus not being sexually interested in a human male. The species fence is a much lower jump for human females since the Asari already primed all the other species to like that whole bossomy, rounded thing.

That's typical male behaviour right there.

Yes, it was undoubtedly fact that Garrus was a 'bro' in ME2. He brags to Femshep about how he banged that Female Turian and how Krogan females like scars, so he will score points there.
That's typical gay male behaviour right there.

That was likely more of a comment on the awkward hospital scene where you are just checking up on your friend and he hits on you out of the blue. You think you are havinga bro moment and he just takes it the other wayhedara90 wrote...

I'd prefer him not pulling a Kaidan on me.
Actually, Kaidan's sexuality was never set in stone. I remember them giving slight hints in ME1 that suggested that girls were not the only thing that got his motor running
Also, he was meant to be a s/s option in ME1 too.
So, its not totally out of character for him
Shep: "How are your biotics?"
Kaidan:"Are you flirting with me1?. Let me live with the illusion"
Wtf
I romance Kaidan but even I will admit that line was completely out of place, to be honest though I think its just like Traynors comments on EDI's voice or the fact that the first words out of Cortez's mouth after introductions are about his husband.
Its basically the game unsubtley hitting you over the head just to make sure you realise they're available if your intrested. Sure Kaidan blatantly flirting with you after 4 years of subtleties and Traynor acting bashfull over a liking a voice when everyone else is worrying about how eath just got invaded by bloody reapers is a little bit

I actually like what they did in ME3 regarding LIs. Kaidan is bisexual, Traynor and Cortez are homosexual, most are straight, etc.
It just makes it more "real" to me that if I am a male, that I am not going to win Traynor over no matter how hard I try. The crew have their own preferences. Just like in real life, I'm not going to sway someone's sexuality just because I find them attractive.
Personally, I would have liked to see more characters like James that are not romanceable, no matter what. For instance if you couldn't romance Thane because he was still hung up on his wife and just wasn't interested. It gives the characters more life IMO rather than me simply being able to say "hey, that character has the appropriate genitalia, I'm going to make them love me."

One day, they'll announce a romanceable lesbian turian and I will emit a joyous squeal so intense it defies the very laws of nature and can be heard in space.

How could he be gay if he loves Tali if you don't have romance with Tali?
The funny thing is that if you have Garrus die in ME2, then Tali goes to the forward battery at one point in ME3 and reminisces about Garrus being an arrogant jerk or something like that.

I'm o.k. with sóme characters being gay or bi and would -as someone already suggested above- would like it if they would give us a (extra) choice in the beginning of the game for Shepard regarding his or her sexuality.
