I'm interested to see what Ninja Theory does with Devil May Cry. The gameplay I've seen so far looked promising.HenchxNarf wrote...

Honestly, that's the only game that appeals to me at the moment - most of the other releases this year look pretty boring to me.
EDIT: I actually might pick up The Witcher 2 later, but it's not high on my priority list.
My husband just picked up a second copy of RE5, and we played that co-op for several hours yesterday. (Apparently we both played on his XBL profile in past playthroughs, so I didn't have anything unlocked on mine - waa, no clubbin' clothes!). I can't wait for RE6!
In the meantime, I'm excited for TW2 (tomorrow!), Dragon's Dogma, Borderlands 2, Darksiders 2, etc., etc. It's a good year for gaming!

We have a couple copies of RE5, and we'll be getting multiple copies of RE6 so we can play together lol

Looks amazing, and this is what sword/magic combat in future open world games (im looking at you skyrim). Though as an eternal pessimist, I expect to be disappointed by some unexpectedly bad aspect of the game.

Dragon's Dogma was 1 for a while but Crapcom pulls through again forcing me to ignore a promising game.
Its strange that my top 2 are now Free to play MMOFPSes but they look so promising.
Why did you lose interest in Dragon's Dogma? What did Capcom do? I've only been following that game very lightly. Too much on my gaming plate right now...
Its Capcom thats all there needs to be said.
DLC is already planned and I'm thinking its going to be on the disc.
With Crapcom really not seeing a problem with this their a company I just can't support.

Tomb Raider
XCOM (the strategy game, NOT the shooter)
Prey 2 (if it's not canceled), Dark Souls (PC) and RE6 would be the runner up's, but that's about it as far as I'm concerned. 2012 is, compared to 2011, a terrible gaming year.

Banner Saga just looks freakin sweet. How could you not like a game that is a cross between King of Dragon Pass, FFT, and Shining force. Is about freaking Vikings and looks absolutely beautiful.
God, Shining Force was my favorite series when i was a little kid. If it has the gameplay of that, with the more complicated, non-combat gameplay of King of dragon pass, and a mature story that your choices truly impact, sign me up.

...Regardless, it is mildly depressing. Obviously releasing a sequel after sequel after sequel is something that serves best interests of devs and publishers as well. Since publisher, developer and consumer all agree on fact sequels are greatest thing since sword +1, it is a small wonder world sees less and less AA or AAA releases braving them new unexplored frontiers.
Few years from now AA/AAA side of gaming industry consists of two giant publishers releasing **** ton of sequels between four or five gigantic franchises.
It is grand how indie scene, kickstarts and whatnots are breathing so much life in lungs of PC gaming at least. I'd hate to be stuck with a pad though. Things for emconsoles are starting to look awfully bleak.
..Speaking of already existing franchises and kickstarts, I'm insulted the people making the remake of Baldur's Gate aren't offering me ways to give them money:crying:
