I admit I only skimmed for the most part but I haven't seen anyone claim they're never wrong or insult anyone.

It's business, their agenda is to sell more products to those who have yet to buy it. Some of those who might of already bought it have a different agenda and the two will not be the same. It is a very clever way to put a positive spin on a group within a customer bases expression of negativity.

You're right, and it is clever. That doesn't make it any less greedy and scummy.

No, thats how you read it. There is nothing thats being implied by "has provoked a bigger fan reaction...." 

Reading
it like you are isn't exactly wrong, but here the fact: they left the
impression open.  B/c some read it as "it might be a good thing" and
some read it as "It might be a bad thing".

The genius of the ad is that they know, regardless, this whole thing will  peak ppls interests.  They don't need to imply it.

I shouldn't have said they were trying to imply something good, but the point is that the uproar was a bad thing and they're taking it out of context to be used to pique interests. You just said yourself that half of those interests piqued would be thinking "it might be a good thing." It's not.

Now....the argument that using such a negative outcry for any type advertisement is being disrespectful....well, I agree with that.  Some might say "alls fair in love and war....and money" but it's still a slap in the face.

I just don't think the ad is trying to hard, b/c frankly it doesn't have to.

That's kind of entertaining considering you're supporting someone who can't understand why VGChartz is a horrible source,  and the last time DragonlordZ was faced with EA's sales problems he went digging for a sales chart from anywhere so he could spin it into "ME3's selling great!".

His arguement was a chart from Finaland.

But then,  you've both achieved your tasks of derailing the threads about the ridiculous press release.  I caught that you were working the thread on the story board.

Like before it doesn't tend to go in your favor like earlier in this thread.

I never said it was the greatest source ever or best source, I said it was one of the only sources at the time. I also stated that both NPD and VGC are estimates and rely on assumption by way of extrapolating whatever samples they use. Most of my comments in all threads talk about using sources we have availible not ones we do not have.

With regard to the finland data it was not to prove one way or another anything except there is some positive articles and numbers out there. If you took offense at that fact then that is your problem.

You're spinning again,  you're trying to pretend the NPD data isn't reliable and on the same level as VGChartz,  a site who revises their data to match the NPD.  Never mind the fact that NPD is used by multiple industries,  highly trusted,  and it's methodology vetted.

As far as your comments go,  your comments in threads are always designed to defend Bioware and derail the thread.  You spread misinformation and disinformation,  and come up with highly questionable rationalizations for why trusted sources shouldn't be trusted.  When that invariably fails,  you then post thinly veiled insults,  and then turn the thread into a highly dramatized "Omg you're all out to get me!  Trolls Trolls!" to try and discredit knowledgable posters.

You always work in tandem with a second account,  usually Tazsomethingorother.  On this thread,  with Father within a short time of the PR debacle becoming public.  It's obvious reading through the thread what the intent was,  as soon as you started getting in trouble,  Dridengx is called in from the Story boards where he was fighting the same battle,  and then Father shows up shortly after to work with you.  Which curiously,  Father's posting style is very similiar to tazsomethingorother's.

So either it's a set of EA accounts working hard,  or there's a agreement between specific people in order to try and eliminate any threads that happen to challenge EA.

Given what I read on Reddit,  I know what I believe it is.

In your world "more likely" = "only"? If you feel passionately about something, you are more likely to vote or write reviews. Pissed off is a passion. This is an undeniable fact. People LOVE the Hunger Games novels. People both love and hate the Twilight novels. This should not come as a surprise that they have enormous amounts of reviews.

I know no specifics about the ME2 poll. How was it advertised? Did it allow multiple votes? There's no provenance when it comes to this poll, other than as an attempt, by you, to deflect.

I will simply refer you, instead, to lean about the concept of "argumentum ad populum".

This is like Firestone advertising "Most talked about tires of the decade!"

Yes, I am aware that this is a video game and not nearly as serious as the Firestone fiasco, but I am simply drawing parallels to the shady logic behind that type of advertising, not tying the actual companies together.

You would think, after all of the fallout, that they would just leave all talk about the endings out of any advertising. The people that are saying "well, gee, it is true, after all", don't seem to understand that just because it is true, doesn't make it smart. There is really no reason to include that text in their ad's.

Who are they aiming that kind of advertising at, anyway? Most people who would even see the ad either:
A) already own the game and know about the ending controversy
or
Are thinking about buying the game and know about the ending controversy.

Honestly, who else that doesn't fit in one of those categories will actually see that ad? Because if they don't own the game AND don't know about the controversy, they either live under a rock and won't see the ad anyway, or they simply don't care, rendering the ad moot. Sorry, but this simply reeks of bad decision making on whoever green-lit that ad.

Yeah.  I've seen him post in multiple topics and I have no idea what he's trying to say.  I don't know if you've ever watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer but he's like the Cheese guy in the season 4 finale.  He shows up in Xander's, Giles', Willow's and Buffy's dreams just to ask if they wanted some cheese and that was his only purpose.
