I actually wish I worked for EA and thought of that.... that would be HILARIOUS.

That said, They haven't lied. It HAS provoked a bigger fan reaction than any other video games conclusion in recent memory.

Sure they left out a lot of nerd rage is included in that, but.. thats marketing.

It's the dictionary definition of a misleading half-truth, of adding so much spin to a kernel of fact that it comes out saying the virtual opposite of what it actually means.
It is PR-lingo at its worst, and it's SUPPOSED to make people draw the wrong conclusion. (Namely that people talk about it so much because it's so good.)

The entire purpose of the remark was to point out that you can take any horrible thing, and by omitting certain facts about it, you can make it look good. My remark had nothing to do with the actual event outside of using it as an example, so quit your self-righteous whining.

The fact is that you were the one who assumed I'd intended the two subjects as being somehow related to one another, which really makes you the sick one here, not I, since you're evidently SO hung up on lambasting anyone with a realistic outlook on the matter as being some kind of unhealthy, mentally challenged deviant because that seems to be the only way to justify it within your mind that ANYONE couldn't possibly find BioWare to be the next incarnation of Christ.

And actually, the overwhelming majority of people who would use that kind of phrasing in a good light used to exist. They were called the Third Reich. Again, speaking of this in regards to the context, not the actual content. That's why we call these things analogies, not 'direct comparisons'. They're not to be taken literally, and if you're the sort that does so, then really you have no place in an intelligent discussion of any sort if such basic conversational premises don't register in your mental faculties.

Though the fact is, of course, that it wouldn't really matter WHAT I'd have said as far as 'Dude_in_the_Room' goes in this matter. I could've used any kind of other event where someone was omitting facts in order to present something bad in a positive light. In which part they spin , it is the most talked topic in gaming media ..

It is not PR lingo at the worst , IT is what made PR , it is what make you and I talk about things .
The TRUTH , we can discuss a lot of things , but end deal is TRUTH is not deniable , it accepted or rejected.
Truth Germany LOST the war in WW2 , if they won the war in WW2 , would all those things we are so worried about in holocaust , be a big burden in modern day life ...
NO it wouldn´t , cause life goes on , life goes on in Africa , life goes on in Azia , child labor is wrong .
But wait letting the family starve to death or the child sent into prostetution is right ?

See the TRUTH stares you in the eyes at Libeya , so the country is free ? now what , you don´t want to know the truth .. that it is going to be a massive civil war of slaughter and indecency .
So the camera moves on , no off all the things they do , PR did the right thing , they just said the TRUTH .

They saved there own butt in one glorious AD , that is what they are paid for .
You are paid to do a job , when you do the job excellently , you get rewarded , when you do the job lousy you get reprimanded or fired .

There job was not sell the ending to be acceptable , there job is crowd control , damage control and attracting new interest or people to the product .
And while failing for weeks maybe a month . they are doing there JOB !!

But see then I dont make analogies using real life..."touchy" subjects.  Because its EASY... to get misconstrued and taken out of context.

Personally I wouldnt of even made the connection... but thats just me.

My analogy is relevant because, let's assume that I'm a Nazí for the sake of the circumstance, and I wanna make the Holocaust look good. I'd do exactly what I just did there. Omitting anything that isn't needed 'to me and my cause'. Which is exactly what you're defending Bioware and EA for doing. Fairness doesn't factor into it in the slightest.

Really, if anyone is complaining about something being 'unfair' here, it's you, because you apparently find this pretty accurate example of how you can make something horrible look good by rearranging the words to not be pretty damned apt as analogies go. Is the subject matter chosen for the analogy a questionable one? Certainly. Does it devalue the point? Not at all.
