Right now my jaw is hanging open, drool is coming out the corner of my mouth, and I am squinting in my screen at disbelief. Right up until now I was willing to attribute the, lets call them inconsistencies, between the pre-release marketing and the actual game to benign neglect or simple hyperbole. I wasn't willing to call them liars because I didn't want to impute any malicious intent to what had happened.

But sweet weeping raptor Shepard that is as deceptive and out of context as you could possibly get. There are exactly three explanations for this that account for all observed phenomena:

1) Bioware/EA have the reading comprehension and english language skills of a wombat. The superb writing found throughout the rest of the franchise was a statistical fluke; the chimpanzees with typewriters finally did produce Hamlet.

2) Bioware/EA are shameless charlatans and liars who have no problem engaging in deceptive advertising verging on outright fraud in this case of this add.

3) The marketing department of Bioware/EA are shameless charlatans and liars who have no problem engaging in deceptive advertising verging on outright fraud, and the game's developers along with the rest of the company are either unwilling or unable to stop them.

Seems to be legit. Fox news would be proud.

Hah. Funny because of all the news networks... Fox is the most reliable.

Ahahahahahahahahahahaha!  AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!  AHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!!!!!  Ahhhhhhhhhhhh....

Its actually not funny... it just shows you how terrible the rest of them are.

Acutally it is funny because fox news is the most unreliable news channel of them all. People literally come out less informed from watching it then those who have not watch any news channel.

Why do they despise you?
You unconditionally despise them.

I'm surprised they even want to make games anymore.

I don't think you know what the word "unconditional" means.

Yes he did.  He didn't give a reason why, just said "Thanks for the feedback" and locked it.  I would assume that it was because of people being rude, but I didn't swim through all the pages of that thread.

This is EA trying to push more sales. Bioware made some mistakes but they aren't stupid. This SCREAMS EA marketing to me.

EA's PR people must be over 100. The only way they could think this makes sense is if they learned PR in the 50s. They must not understand how the internet works.

This also would have been a time where using a poll to gauge fan sentiment would have made sense, since they would have known who NOT to send these emails to to ****** off even further.

Hey now, that's harsh.
Wombats are cute, fuzzy animals and should not be insulted by being compared to BW/EA,,,;(

While its not exactly enraging me or anything, I do feel it was indeed, a poor choice of words on EA/Biowares part. They should not have used that quote.

Love the email! They are the masters of trolling at this point Image IPB

It's like EA/Bioware just took of their gloves and slapped the community in the face with them, saying have at thee!

If it's something they know how do right it's how to pour gasoline on a fire and patting themselves on the back at the same time Image IPB

This is like Firestone advertising "Most talked about tires of the decade!"

Yes, I am aware that this is a video game and not nearly as serious as the Firestone fiasco, but I am simply drawing parallels to the shady logic behind that type of advertising, not tying the actual companies together.

You would think, after all of the fallout, that they would just leave all talk about the endings out of any advertising. The people that are saying "well, gee, it is true, after all", don't seem to understand that just because it is true, doesn't make it smart. There is really no reason to include that text in their ad's.

Who are they aiming that kind of advertising at, anyway? Most people who would even see the ad either:

A) Already own the game and know about the ending controversy

B) Are thinking about buying the game and know about the ending controversy.

C) Don't want the game and don't care about the controversy.

Honestly, who else that doesn't fit in one of those categories will actually see that ad? Because if they don't own the game AND don't know about the controversy, they either live under a rock and won't see the ad anyway, or they simply don't care, rendering the ad moot. Sorry, but this simply reeks of bad decision making on whoever green-lit that ad.
