I don't hate Liara, but like her less than the others. I was neutral to her before ME3 (she was great in LoS), but the way she constantly breaks into my room is irritating. Not everyone romances you, Liara, can you imagine that?

Funny how my favourite character in Mass Effect 2 - the Illusive Man - was turned into an empty and stupid antigonist, wasting the potential of the introduced "shades of gray" face of Cerberus, thus making him the least favourie character for me. Well, if you don't count Chobot, Vega and Kai Leng.

good point. I didn't like how we went from gray to full on evil with little transition. For me, it ruined the "I tried" scene.

Out of squaddies: Liara. Stay out of my brain and business.
Others: God Child and the asari counselor. Allers doesn't get enough screen time to qualify.

Catalyst, worst character, not only in Mass Effect 3 but in sci-fi history.

Beside Space Hitler:
Jacob.
I saw that Jacob was the crew member who had the highest survial rate in Mass Effect 2. Jacob died for me in the first play, since he was expendable to me.

Jacob made it impossible to romance Miranda. Miranda can be fun/sweet/sexy, but she shows no judgement when she had intimate relationship whit Jacob. If it was a Hanar, I would understand. But JACOB?

I don't know how so many people can hate Liara - a character who basically did absolutely nothing to cause offense to anyone!

I think it's more the way the character is treated than the character itself. I was neutral about her at the beginning before Bioware started shoving her into my face while yelling "are you SURE you don't want to romance her?!!" Yes, Bioware, I am sure. Stay out of my cabin, Liara!

Besides, I can't believe you're barely able to call her out on giving your body to Cerberus in ME2.

I can't decide between Diana Allers and Starbrat.

Edit: Okay, I choose Diana Allers. Sure, I dislike Starbrat with a passion, but Allers just pisses me off. Emily Wong would have been a better choice by far. She has history with Shepard and it makes sense. Well, it does for me.

Previous description I've made of my dislike for her:
And I don't see her as badass. She's a wannabe badass. She is literally everything I have despised in people I've met: insecure, inconsistant, not very bright, hotheaded, pretentious, blaming her failings on her past etc. etc. etc. Then add in extremely violent and a serial killer. She's a despicable person in every way. It also makes her about as untrustworthy as you can get.

In cutscenes she's supposd to be a badass. In combat she's terribly weak. I know we're supposed to separate the character from the squadmate abilities, but in this case it ruined it for me. I think Shepard is supposed to be a bit fearful of her capabilities, see her as a threat a little bit, but in reality I saw her as weak and not really worthy of being on the team.

I did romance her with some characters, but with others it didn't bother me. Unlike Jack, who's totally useless as a squadmate, Liara is a powerhouse, the most underestimated and easily the most useful squadmate to bring with you in any battle on Insanity in both ME1 and ME3. I tend to defer to characters that are useful. The ones that are less useful are less interesting to me. This is also why I preferred Tali in ME1, but they nerfed her in ME2 and ME3, so she's less interesting. Garrus was damn near useless in ME1, but very useful in ME2 and ME3 so he became a favorite kind of buddy for me.

Tali's only saving grace for ME2 is her upgrades she give to the Normandy and the fact that I can use her in both ME2 and ME3 to broker a peace between the Geth and the Quarians and use them both in battle at the end. As a squadmate, she totally sucked. In ME1 I basically used Tali and Liara almost exclusively on missions. By ME2 I barely used her, but I used Miranda almost constantly, even when I didn't romance her. Ditto for Liara.

Hmm.  My least favorite character is probably Zaeed, out of the whole series.  He's such an unapologetic **** that he pretty much sabotages his own loyalty mission out of impatience, then has the gall to be pissed when Shepard calls him out on it.

As for ME3, there were some character design choices that I didn't really care for, like EDI's body.  I know why they did it though.  It was to provide some balance to the core team without bringing in another new character.  This is why we have Vega as well, you know.  Every player will have at least Liara, EDI, and James.  Notice how that covers all the bases in terms of combat abilities.  Any other character could be dead, and thus couldn't be part of the core.  That's why you don't have Grunt in place of James, or Legion in place of EDI and so on.

But I wasn't all that fond of Allers, like many others.  I didn't hate her, but that cutscene when she comes to your cabin for an interview seemed forced.  I don't need everyone who comes to my cabin to hit on me, BIoware!  Especially when if you do the crazy thing and try to pursue her advances, she backs off like you were crazy to see any subtext in her comments.

Allers because she felt so contrived and her dialogue was terrible, Space Hitler because...well what's NOT to hate. Vega. At least Grunt was funny and a meathead. Vega is just a useless moron.

Vega. Why am I trying so hard to get to know this grunt? And not the awesome krogan Grunt, who's a total badass. Nope. The human grunt--James Vega.

You call me Loco one more time, you insubordinate, single-brain cell Amoeba, and I'll blow that stupid gangsta' tat right off your no-neck jarhead.

The lowest common denominator stows away on the Normandy. "He's just a regular guy, " FPJ said about him. Yeah. And is written like countless stereotypes of the ****** "throw 'em at the enemy" marines. Oh, Vega's real. Real dull.

Whew. I feel better now.

Kai Leng. Allers. Catalyst.

Also Liara. I didn't mind her, actually kinda liked her as a friend to Shep...until BioWare started throwing her into my face at every opportunity to the point where I got sick of the sight of her. Sorry, Liaramancers.

I would go for Jacob but since he isn't a squadmate in ME3, I 'll go with Cortez. They give so much importance to that guy, I get why, but for me he was like another npc, I didn't give a damn about that guy

liking Jack would be a kin to liking Ted Bundy or Jeffery Dahmer.

crazy serial murderers who feel no remorse for there actions.

and yet some people want to ROMANCE Jack

Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer weren't kidnapped and sold off to a terrorist organization, who proceeded to torture, drug, and send children into gladiatorial deathmatches. Jack isn't angry at people just for the lulz.

Anyway... back to the topic, my least favorite character is Shepard. At least, Shepard during the ending. He doesn't bother to question the Catalyst at all. He just sort of goes along with what he says, without thinking.

theres a difference between being "angry" and being a "murderer". Most REAL serial killers had ****ty childhoods and were abused to a degree. That however doesent justify anything. Jack is pretty much excrement in human form with no remorse.

besides being topless what redeeming quality does she show in ME2?

I'm like with characters in this series as I am with people I work with, apparently. People that are useful to the team, I like. Those that aren't, even if they make funny jokes or have a sob story, I'm sorry, but I don't like them. If people I work with don't contribute to the team then don't be on the team. That's how I felt regarding Jack. She killed, what, 4 heavy mechs in her intro sequence? But as soon as I put her in my squad she's totally incapable of killing a regular trooper. Get the hell off my ship, I say.
