Liara. I can definitely see the appeal of her character, but it falls completely flat on me.

I agree. She is way too dramatic sometimes, but she is not my least favorite character. Least favorite character has to be StarChild. I think StarChild is the most popular choice for least favorite character according to well everyone. Allers can be easily pushed to the side and never seen again, but StarChild, well the encounter is inevitable and his logic ruins the entire theme of Mass Effect and the entire experience of Mass Effect. So StarChild is by far the worst for ruining Mass Effect for everyone.

I ruled out Starchild and Allers. Seems too easy. :P
As much as I dislike Liara I wouldn't dare think that she's worse than Spacebrat or Allers. That would be insulting.

To include Starchild and Allers in your list of least favorite charaters implys they are charaters...as far as I care they are not so Tevos, Kai, Laira are safe in their places as my first, second, third least favorite characters.

Which is why I ruled them out. ;)
My memory's blurry, who's Tevos?

Diana Allers. I didn't realize how loathsome she was until my second playthrough when I noticed that they made her hips sway "alluringly" every time she walked into Shep's cabin for an interview.

None of the other characters do this, but they went so over the top in foisting her on us as some sort of fan service (and I'm usually not bothered by fan service), that I just felt insulted.

Bear in mind, I don't blame Jessica Chobot for this. I blame EA/Bioware for "pimping" her to us like they did.

I'm just going to add to the bandwaggon and say Diana Allers, because it is true.

Jack haters are so cute.

liking Jack would be a kin to liking Ted Bundy or Jeffery Dahmer.

crazy serial murderers who feel no remorse for there actions.

and yet some people want to ROMANCE Jack

/boggle

Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer weren't kidnapped and sold off to a terrorist organization, who proceeded to torture, drug, and send children into gladiatorial deathmatches. Jack isn't angry at people just for the lulz.

Anyway... back to the topic, my least favorite character is Shepard. At least, Shepard during the ending. He doesn't bother to question the Catalyst at all. He just sort of goes along with what he says, without thinking.

theres a difference between being "angry" and being a "murderer". Most REAL serial killers had ****ty childhoods and were abused to a degree. That however doesent justify anything. Jack is pretty much excrement in human form with no remorse.

besides being topless what redeeming quality does she show in ME2?

I take it you haven't actually spoken to her, aside from the recruitment and loyalty missions, huh?

Did you ever bother to listen to her in ME3?

She isn't a serial killer, she's just angry and does whatever the hell she wants. She's killed people, but she doesn't make it a habit. She doesn't feel remorse for the people she kills (Most of the time the people she kills are scum anyway), but that doesn't automatically make her a horrible person, otherwise every single character in the entire franchise would be on the same level.

I suppose with an ass like that Miranda has the right to brag, but it REALLY annoys me how she goes on and on and on about how perfect she is and what a burden it is for her to be so fantastic.

Liara for me as well. There are other characters in ME3 alone that are probably more deserving of my ire, but I've never liked Liara since the beginning of the series, so taking that into account, I have to give her the win. She's always kind of come across as some kind of crazy stalker to me. I couldn't be nice to her in ME1 without her thinking we were dating and then she turned kind of nuts in ME2. Creeps me out.

Made worse when I was going through my screenshots and saw this:

I don't think she's xenophobic, just a bit careful with regards to trusting unknowns.

I hated the two random alliance soldiers who filled the places of my dead Tali and absent Javik who just randomly stood in the room and acted as part of the team when Shep is giving his speech before the end.

Least favorite has got to be Conrad Verner - what an absolute plonker.

I dont get why people keep crying about Diana Allers, she's barely in it! I just thought it was a quirky little touch having a real reporter playing her, pretty amusing to be honest.

I take it you didn't talk to anyone on purgatory or watch her murder the disturbed guy on Pragia. She's a sociopath and enjoys killing people. You have a very selective memory.

I don't understand the Liara hate unless your a) a woman and/or B) an adept. If you're not an adept, her biotic abilities are just so damn useful that you take her everywhere in ME1 and long for a character with her abilities in ME2, and then jump for joy realizing you can have her almost the entire way in ME3. In truth, I didn't like her character in ME2, and in ME3 it was weird. Thought she was cute in ME1 when she was more innocent, but her usefulness as a squadmate cannot be repeated often enough.

I'd be willing to forgive her if she had any usefulness as a squadmate at all. As it was, she's a totally non-entity and a waste of space on my squad selection line up.

For some reason and I can't put my finger on why but Tali seemed to grind my gears a bit. I don't hate her or anything but yeah she did a bit.

Whether or not she's useful doesn't factor into why I don't like her. I don't like her character (and her voice irritates me), and I can get by perfectly well without ever using her until the game forces her onto me. You can jump for joy all you want, and I'll continue to ignore her as much as I am permitted.

hmm difficult choice:
kaiden, because for some reason he became gay (seemed weird writing to me)

ashley, because i didnt romance her and shes annoying as **** and xenophobic

diana allers, because putting a reporter from ign in your game just screams bribery and frankly her voice acting sucks

javic, because prothean retconned to look like collectors and unneccessary prothean civilization twist (wouldnt call it a retcon, since not much was known about protheans, the ideas we had since me1 were based more on indications than facts).

that kid from earth, because obvious inclusion to not alienate people who didnt play the previous games (couldve gone with nightmares about kaiden/ash, whoever died on virmire instead) and forced selfdoubt for shepard, also space magic

kai leng, because hes the worst villain ever (the worst villain being an unworthy one, one that doesnt really deserve your attention. evidenced by the two fights you have with him in which he really seems less dangerous than the phantoms)

TIM, because he became some weird indoctrinated lunatic (TIM is smarter than to let that happen to him)

balak, because **** that guy

liara, doesnt really bother me actually, i liked her well enough to not be bothered by her excessive screen time
