Am I the only one that thinks it strange that the catalyst didn't even try to stop Shepard, it says that no one has gotten this far before.
I dunno how they didn't Shepard just walks right in, like really how hard would it have been for the catalyst to have a couple of Mobs on the citadel just in case someone gets up.

I don't bother trying to understand anything about the catalyst. It's a monumentally stupid plot device, a Totally Utterly Ridiculous Deus ex machina. There's no understanding it because it was shoehorned into the ending and makes absolutely no sense.
