The most evil thing you can do in this game is to let Vaughan live in the City Elf origin. When playing said origin I instantly slaughtered the man but letting him live is just not an option to me.

Then of course the second most evil thing in-game:

"Have you seen my mother?"

"She's dead you fool!"

Step 1: Kill Isolde for the blood magic ritual

Step 2: Make a deal with the demon to allow it to come back in exchange for sexy times in The Fade

Taking advantage of Gheyna was kind of depressing, though I admit very funny. I killed Connor myself, so I didn't actually feel as bad about it (I think it would have been worse had I made Isolde kill him). Betraying Jowan, accepting gold from Vaughan, sucking out all of the elf slaves energy to fuel my own health...hmm, I guess that's about it.

I wanted a "You both suck, I'M going to be king" option at the Landsmeet.

For really and truly I did.

One of the things I like about this game is a lot of "evil" choices actually have rational, somewhat moral, interpretations and reflect a risk/reward assessment. Many of the game's decisions are more about deciding how ruthlessly efficient your character is rather than a stark good/evil choice.

Like letting Zevran live-- it's not obvious when you encounter him that he's more significant than any other crony Loghain sent after you, and even after interrogation, his offer of loyalty is only a lack of options on his part. Safer to kill him and move on. I'd make a similar argument for killing Loghain, since his fanatical hatred of Orlais led him to consider regicide, civil war, allying with Howe and Tevinter slavers and nearly wiping out the Grey Wardens necessary courses of action. Letting Loghain live also has the potential to undermine Anora/Alistair. Is it a vengeful act primarily? Yeah, but there are also enjoyably logical reasons to do so-- doesn't seem like this is an old dog that easily learns new tricks.

Another evil yet rational set of actions is siding with both Bhelen and Branka. As someone in search of a strong, militant ally, Bhelen seems the natural choice for king, and Branka only furthers strengthens the dwarves with her golem manufacturing. I only point out them together because it's the most ruthless yet effective combination. Harrowmont is more likely to set strict, unbreakable laws on the anvil's use, if he has it, since he is less ruthless and likely a better student of history (as it pertains to kings forcing dwarves to become golems) than Bhelen.

Tons of other examples...

Throwing away the Arcane Warrior vial after you get the specialization from him, probably. Especially if your character is elf too.

Though i wouldn't use "best" to describe it, really.

This.

I can happily do pretty much most other things, but this just seems wrong because there's no reason to it. It's pointlessly evil.

I would have personally liked an option to get Flemeth's grimoire, lie to Morrigan that she's dead, have sex with Alistair two days before the final battle, agree to Morrigan's deal, then...

*Archdemon dies, stuff explodes*

Morrigan: What the... It didn't work!

Warden: Hahahah so long suckers! *runs off to play mum with Old God baby*

Fighting Wynne to get rid of the magical barrier preventing entry to the Circle of Magi Tower was pretty evil - especially when my character decapitated her and killed the apprentices right in front of the children they were trying to protect.

I don't think killing Connor was evil but Alistair sure disagreed. For massive hit to his approval it was certainly worth one abomination's life.

My favorite evil moments are any where your character gets to pull out the knife and *slice!* .

If you're a dwarven noble professing that Caradin/Branka made the crown for you to rule as king and then kill Bhelen for treachery, maybe not evil but damnit it should've been possible.

If your persuasion skill is high enough, you can lower the approval loss. He'll still disagree, but accept your point of view that it was necessary

I've been having fun with evil. In Ostagar there is an elf messenger running around, apparently with a sword to deliver. I intimidated him into giving it to me, then slit his throat saying I'd caught him stealing. Oh, and killed the prisoner in the cage, and and the wounded soldier outside.

Since I was a mage, going for Bloodmage, I went straight to Redcliffe. I just let the town die. Oh how they whined they wouldn't make it if I didn't help. It was awesome seeing all the "living" corpses attack me when doing the Castle part.

And of course, I sacrificed Isolde, just so I could make a bargain with the demon to get the Specialization.

I would have killed the mages in the tower, but I think my mage hated the Templars more (he didn't like living in the Tower, RPly) and I wanted Wynne in my party, so I could have a 3 mage party + Sten.

Alistair hates me so bad. He's around -70, or such, and that's only because I gave him a few gifts i found. I think its pretty funny.

Though my char is romancing Morrigan, I didn't kill Flemeth. He's only doing her because she's hot.

I have to reconsider my previous attitudes. Playing a more "evil" character this time I came across the arcane warrior gem, and instead of destroying it as the presence asked, I kept it cause it might be useful.

Honestly of all the things you can do in the game, I think that's the most evil of them all. I can think of no torture worse than being imprisoned, fully sentient and aware but unable to act or perceive in any way, for countless centuries or millenia.

Top that off with the fact that this presence has done nothing to harm you, helps you, and it's made rather clear that there is nothing more you can possibly gain from it, the decision not to destroy it seems like the most despicable thing anyone can do in the game.

And in the end I had to reload and go ahead and destroy the gem. Couldn't keep going after that.

mine was in the city elf male origin killing the first inside the estate in cold blood

That was simply hilarious! But considering the circumstances, it's not exactly evil ;)

But then again, city elf origins allows you to justify the genocide of humans and not call it evil. Heh

The most "evil" I found was siding with Branka, but that's my opinion.

Not really evil. Most people would have chose that option than risk more lives heading off to the mage tower to save one person.

To be honest, the thing that feels most "evil" to me throughout the game that I have done so far, is killing Loghain. There's no reason other than vengeance to do it, and every reason not to.
I suppose purging the Circle is probably also a pretty "evil" thing in my point of view, but at least that has some logic to it.

Yep, I agree with you there about the killing Loghain bit. There's no reason to do it other than to please Alistair's sense of vengeance (and your own, I guess, if you're playing it that way).

Wrong. There is EVERY reason to kill him (or throw him into prison for life).

Sleeping with Morrigan and Leliana and then when she confronts you about it lie to her face. I went right over and dig it again and boy was it good then I had a quick tussle with Zevram just for good measure. Wynne didn't seem to mind and only told me to pursue Leliana more but I think my warrior had fun getting his jollies before the ultimate sacrifice.
