This has me seriously stumped and I have no bloody idea where to post this. Anyways, first off, I was trying to patch DA2 (and DAO) but both says that neither game was found on this computer. So, I tried uninstalling my game...it also says neither game was found on this computer. And that was through the launcher, so I go to my add/remove...once again, says that neither game was found on my computer. This has never happened before.

I am seriously stumped and I don't know what to do. Funny part is I can still play the bloody game! Seriously, what? sigh...any ideas on what to do or something? I'm so confused T_T and really want to patch both games!! :crying:

I use Windows Vista.

Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard Company
Model: p6130y
Processor: AMD Phenom™ 9750 Quad-Core Processor 2.40 GHz
Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB
System Type: 64-bit Operating System

That's all the information I can find about my computer. Hopefully SOMEONE will give me an answer (highly doubt it)

Having doen complete un-/re-installs of DA:O many, many times trying to troublshoot problems after the 1.03 patch. then after updrading from a retail disc+ (almost) all DLC to the UE, I can tell you it's both fairly quick, and fairly painless.

Select the "Retain Characters and Saves" options, and just bite the bullet!

I don't know if I explained it very well, so I made a video to show what my problem is

I am now having the exact same issue, windows 7 platform, game runs oki, but i am experiencing some issues that this patch (1.05) is suppose to fix. I have the Dragon Age:Ultimate Edition. but it doesn't recognize the game is even installed. So I can't apply the patch. Is there a DAZIP for this patch

You are in the wrong forum. This is DA2 Tech, not DAO. Read the stickies in that other forum. 95% of all the problems have repeated often enough to be included.

Having the same problem with DA2 as DAO, I'm in the right forum. No point in posting it in two different places

Compared to anything else that Bioware has done the past nine years, DA2 was singularly unsuccessful.  Interest tailed off rapidly.  By this past winter, very few gamers still looked into this forum.  The summer exodus has already occurred.. What few had been here are now gone, unlikely to return until / unless DA3 is imminent.  Personally, I have had no experience with your symptoms.

Use "Control Panel" -> "Uninstall Programs" -> "Dragon Age II"

Either;

a)  That will work, (which means problem solved...)

-or-

B)  You do not have a complete/legitimate/uncorrupted install to begin with.  In which case, you can just do a new install from scratch (problem solved!)

Either way, problem solved. Image IPB

(P.S.  Same instructions for DA:O.  And I believe GA's reply was directed at the other poster, since DA2 does not have a "patch 1.05".)

The uninstall a program does not work for DA2 nor DAO (and the toolset too now) because it continuously says it cannot be found on my computer. My install of all three were complete, legitimate, and uncorrupted and that's why I'm so confused and frustrated. I can't update, uninstall (and since I can't uninstall, I'm unable to install), and because I can't uninstall the toolset, I can't use my it because of the "unable to connect to database" problem.

NVM! Got it resolved. Deleted everything DAO and DA2 related from my comp (saving my chars and mods, of course) manually, and was able to reinstall it (only DAO atm, hadn't started DA2). Hopefully it'll fix my issue with the toolset as well

Glad you got it resolved!
