I've been replaying the trilogy from the start, and noticing that Mass Effect 1 is really showing its age. I'm sure this isn't a new idea; going from the third game back to the first one sure brings this to mind, but I want to be sure to put it out there:

Perhaps five years from now, in the distant future of 2017--for Mass Effect's ten-year anniversary (or hopefully sooner)--I would love to see the Mass Effect trilogy and all its DLC re-released as a single game. It could come out for the next generation of consoles. They should take the gameplay and graphics of the third game, improve them where they can, and apply them evenly to the whole series. Keep all the same dialogue (no need to change it, really), but have all the better visuals, combat, level design, quest structure, consistent art and music style and so-on that can come from looking at the trilogy in hindsight and remaking it as one cohesive game. Take the opportunity to overhaul the secondary gameplay stuff too: get rid of all the hacking minigames, make the Mako more fun to drive, planets more fun to scan, and reapers fun to avoid (see how I cleverly omitted "more" from that? lol), or even replace one or more of those with something totally new, like sweet space-combat sequences with the Normandy or something crazy like that. Go nuts.

I want to see all three games uniformly brought up to the same modern standard, and then merged into a single narrative. After stopping Saren, you don't get the credits, you flash forward to the Collector attack. After you stop the Collectors and blow up the alpha relay, you can pick Earth from the galaxy map to face the consequences, and flash-forward to the Reaper invasion. And of course they can take this opportunity to tweak, improve, smooth out, and just plain fix some aspects of the games, like the weaker side quests, the part about the Human-form Reaper, the reveal of Tali's face, and (of course) the ending. Call it Mass Effect: The Shepard Saga. Or something. They can name it later. Point is, I'd pay a lot for this. Just wanted to get the idea out there in case it could happen one day. Would you guys like to see this, or are you more interested in just seeing something new?
