I know the PC version has several mods allowing to respec talents, spells etc. but the console version is left in the dust. Are there any plans, to include such a feature in any future DLC? If not well, could you make plans?

Fine. The developers said that they had no plans to even implement a "respec" system in DA:O. Thus, the only way to get one is through user-generated content. Since the consoles don't support such content (and they never will for DA:O), you're not getting a "respec" system.

Justified.

I would like to say I would fully support a DA:O developer made respec tool for all platforms.  This adds an enormous amount of replayablity to the game and would love to see it as a standard in all RPGs.

How exactly does respec=more replayability?

LOL! "Replayability."

How does allowing one to change all their character's skills halfway thru the game (instead of starting a new game with a new character with new skills) ADD to replayability?

Because you can respec your party members to roles that they weren't created for?  If you pick up a party member late, they have most of their talents assigned already.

why would bioware break their system by allowing a feature that makes absolutely no sense to cater to WoWlike players, especially when they added achievements (who really cares) for getting all the points in a section.

I don't see how anyone could justify respecing in ANY game, but I understand its necessity in games like WoW where many roles can be filled, and there is no actual roleplaying anyway.

Well, there's more to it than that.  Blizzard also patches the game every few months and significantly changes spells and talents, making old builds obsolete and introducing new ones.  Then there are specific encounters that are easier to complete with certain builds (e.g. Frost Mage for Vezax).  Sometimes the stat distribution on gear heavily favors one build over another and suggests switching talents, too.

Besides all of that, though, creating a new character in WoW is a much bigger time investment than creating a new character in DA:O.  We're talking ~20 days to reach max level (unless you use that lame recruit-a-friend service) and then more time to increase reputations, collect gear, etc.  A playthrough of DA:O is ~60-80 hours for most people.  It's nothing.

Seriously, if you're willing and able to pay for all the things people suggest as DLC, you can also afford a decent PC to run the game on, like it was intended to.

I know, I used to play, their ridiculous changes to classes were game breaking as is.

I hate agreeing with Sloth... but that sounds like it would either do nothing for replayability or take away from it.

That being said, I enjoy the No Autolevel mod, and the No Starting Abilities mod, and the Raven Respec mod... they just don't add to replayability (unless making an individual playthru more enjoyable for me makes me more likely to replay it - which is an argument for lots of more enjoyable features beyond a simple respec DLC)

Replayability is more then playing a different character with a different class and origin.  I personally like playing the game with different specialization and talent arrangements on top of making a new character; you can't get this many different combinations without the respec mod.

Again, generic "more fun = more replayability" is not an argument unique to a respec DLC. There's lots of ways they could use their DLC assets to make the game "more fun" for everyone than catering solely to the bottom of gaming barrel.

The only post I remember was one that said the toolset would never work on the consoles due to memory limitations (hi, 512MB of system memory in 2009) and that they were considering the possibility of getting user-generated content to work on the PS3 platform.  I highly doubt that they'll do it, though, since Sony greatly restricts things like that.

Bottom of the gaming barrel? The respec mod (along with the camp chest) are the most popular mods currently in DA:O and are often claimed as a must for players on the PC. Judging from your post, you seemed to be mistaken in the fact that all DLC must be hours worth of content. The fact that the respec mod took only 2 weeks to make leads me to believe it could just be patched over in a console game update.

Just because it would not be worth it to you doesn't mean it is worthless to others.

No, but those "others" would much rather the developers spend their time on more worthwhile projects, such as more actual content.  There are only X zots to go around, and I don't want them wasting Y of them on such a worthless mod for the consoles.

Agreed, and if they make such a patch for the consoles, then they will feel obligated to readjust the power level of the game to compensate since you can now change your character dependant on the situation, which means either changing the game for those who don't want it too or having to make dlc with two different power levels due to whether or not the player has the respec option (in addition to the normal power level changes).

Looking at this post done 9 days ago you won't be seeing the toolset. http://social.biowar...x/318985#320479

The respec option should be considered null, as this game is not about character optimization and thus the concept becomes largely pointless.
