I one time had a host give me crap because and I quote "Dude Drell are so weak, you're gonna be dead every wave, *laughs* you only have a pistol (carnifex), please go get a stronger class." Yeah... he was stunned when I kept taking out the phantoms and spamming reave and cluster grenade everywhere... I swear some people just don't understand the concept of CASTING class.

I would say it's the COD attitude, but honestly? COD is one of the most RPG-like shooters on the market. Plus it's an unfair stereotype toward people who like it.

skimmed through the thread, I don't think anyone mentioned shieldgate. Javelin may do more damage, but shieldgate reduces most guns' damage past shield/barrier by 50% on bronze, 75% on silver, 100% on gold. And Javelin has less ammo and slower reload than widow. When you have Javelin 1-3, you probably have widow 5-10, which should be better than javevlin in most situations except when taking down the top armored enemies. Couple that with the fact that as difficulty goes up, there are more enemies. In gold difficulty, the amount of enemies in play can be ridiculous, and there are times where you have to try to take down a bunch of low or medium enemies because your teammates aren't focusing on them, and that is when you'll see how important the versatility of faster sniper rifles are.

Oh yeah I agree that COD online is sort-of an RPG shooter hybrid, and I say sort of because when I think RPG, I think of unique powers included with the unique classes.  Everyone has their own playstyle and that's fine, what works for you works for you.  However, I expect to not get crap over my build/layout especially on Bronze (where I play to level up or test the effectiveness of a new build).

i only have the widow I but i have the javelin II with the spare clip V that gives it the same ammo capacity, and it reloads in half the time if you cancel the reload with cloak, when i play with the javelin equipped i usually prioritise the "mini boss" enemies to minimise shield gate as it takes 1 shot to destroy a primes shields with the damage increase from cloak, with the lower enemy units i have the GPR X which weighs next to nothing after the patch and its damage is increased by around 50% with the geth skills.

Character level doesn't mean anything to me, although when I promote character & go on gold with L1 it can get pretty difficult but not unobtainable w/ all equipment on Mark 3.

N7 is everything so If see on gold, player with N7<100 you'll get immediate kick without even thinking.

 As i'm primary playing GE ( right now ) and yes my turrent is speced for shield recharge - i would KICK you just as well if i see you anywhere near the bottom. Been speced for healing means jack for Geth engi. Actully that's the best offencive spec. So yeah been last on the scorebord whit GE is an instant kick. He can outsocre any class in the game whit almost no effort - aside from GI.

Except a krogan battlemaster.

I think we should all make an effort to add more ME3ers to our friends list...

I've seen this in other games - it's an OLD story. Playing with randoms is a mixed bag...

ULM only works with the Geth SMG. It doesn't affect any other SMG.

It effects all smgs on teh ps3

That's why i don't much play with quick match option alone... Still some players preffer play with avenger or predator. Some times i like to use only Predator pistol as i like to say "skillz"

Makes as much sense for being told not to use the Geth rifle and shotgun on my engineer. Since both were level 10s I had a positive recharge and was built for support on big units or groups. Some people just don't like what others use I guess. They told me that I should've used the Graal/Claymore with a heavy pistol.

Side topic: to avoid booting, I see, not infrequently, someone at the last moment during countdown switch to a level 1 in silver, on a casting class (and no awesome weapons/equipment to counteract that). Too late for booting. Invariably they drag down the team as I haven't yet seen a really good player do the ol' switcharoo.

That's annoying.

Are you sure? I've heard it shows that the cooldown has been reduced on the weapons recharge bar thing, but doesn't actually decrease the weight of the weapon. (compare geth smg with the hornet and you'll see what I mean.) And btw I play on the PS triple too.

Ha, I saw this yesterday in a silver match.  There was a guy with a low N7 who had a soldier < level 5 (don't remember the race) who had a kick vote.  He switched to a level 18 infiltrator, the kick vote disappeared, and we readied up... then he switched back to the low-level soldier at the last second.  XD

I was hoping that such a crafty person would be able to hold their own, but he did pretty much as badly as expected.
