I think Ash would be most likely.
Why? Because she is human and has some sort of universal appeal. Which is what you need for a movie.
Tali and Liara are probably too alien for most people and Jack and Miranda might be human but they have... how should I phrase this... a very strong personality that might alienate viewers.
Steve and Kaidan will simply not happen. I don't think I have to elaborate. Unfortunately.
Thing is, no matter who they choose, in the end the majority of players is not going to be able to relate to the choice.

Considering Bioware likes Liara so much I'm very sure it'll be her.

Because... there's no odds that the movie will have a female Shepard with Thane or Garrus. Hell, one'd be lucky to even see either in the movie. >.>

I dont think itll be Liara. An alien romance might/will creep out the casual movie-goers. Probably Ashley and in my dreams itll be Miranda played by Yvonne Strahovski...

EDIT: In retrospect it really wont matter because the movie will suck anyways.

Overall I don't think that it's good idea to make ME movie. Art style may looks good in game but even with great CGI aliens may end up looking cheap in the movie. Also story is good for game, but movie may end up being cliché as hell.

Somehow Avatar didn't creep out people and Navi look less human than Asari. I bet it will be Liara.

I mean human-alien romance. The romance scenes in Avatar were between two aliens who's appearence you had gotten used to because you rarely saw them next to another human, let alone kissing them and having sex with them like a shepard-liara romance would. And im pretty sure people WERE creeped out by the Navi romance thing...I know my friends were.

Liara.

Ashley will be Shepard's first LI, but will die later in the movie I guess. Liara has feelings for him from the beginning and can't get his attention until Ash dies.

At least that's the case if Michelle Rodriguez takes Ashley's role. Not sure if it's the same for Erica Cerra ^^

1 - Computers can make Rodrigues taller ^^
2 - Ash is not Caucasian. She has at least 1/4 Hispanic heritage.
3 - Ash fits pretty much the "badass" trope

But yeah, think it's going to be Erica Cerra. Still - it's most likely Ash won't be Shepard's final LI in that movie - that's going to be Liara.

I actually agree with TobiTobsen. Ashleys seems to fit the tough girl persona Michelle Rodriguez always plays.
Which, most likely, means Ashley will die on Virmire and the LI will be Liara.

If these guys really want the movie to stand out and be original, they'll go with Tali. It would be a risk, but it could work very well of it was executed right. They'll probably just play it safe though and go with liara or maybe ash

Unless the writers barely know anything about the source material, or they have some sort of mental disability, garrus is gonna be in the movie. Thane has a very high chance of being in the sequel as well. In ME2's marketing campaign, thane was one of the most advertised characters, next to miranda and TIM (not including shepard)

I wouldn't be surprised if the movie ended up being like that PS3 comic; Tali, Garrus, and Kaidan are barely included while it goes on about how Liara is "as intelligent as she is beautiful".

Yeah, but the second one is DLC to the movie.

I would pay extra money for a character creator interface before the trailers start.
