As much as I want it to be MShep and Kaidan. They seem to be going very "canon" with this so I think it will be Liara.. with some attraction to Ashley but comes to end on Virmire. I think Kaidan will be the one that sticks around and the "2nd or Best friend" role.

Liara, no question about it. I would like it to be Tali, but face it, thats highly unlikely.

If they did this and wanted to do this right...you make more than one movie at a time. Maleshep/Liara, Femshep/Liara, Maleshep/Kaiden, Maleshep/Ashley, Femshep/Garrus, Maleshep/Tali. Would it be expensive? Indeed...would it make boatloads of money? Indeed. Then you also make Paragon/Renegade versions of the movie. Then don't tell anyone which theater has which movie. You keep the fact of the different movie versions out of the media as much as possible. You have a trailer and you show scenes with the other characters shouting "Shepard" during battles scenes...or saying Shepard in a caring way...but you don't show Shepard. Then release the movie, and since we now have cineplexes, each movie time could show a different version of the movie. Let the fans discover the differences. You go in and see a Maleshep/Renegade flick with LI Liara and your friend sees a Femaleshep/Paragon LI Kaiden. How many times would you go see this ONE movie?

The best trailers leave mystery in the mind of the fans...it builds expectation and a "Need" to know...to see the movie. Remember the tagline: "What IS the Matrix?" I didn't know until I saw the first movie on opening night...the scenes of the movie were disconnected and didn't really show a lot...but when I saw the movie; BAM, I knew...and mind = blown. This could be much the same...no ads about different versions...nothing. Since everything would be filmed to gether the different takes would just look like different takes. When the fans find out, they would have a similar feeling of discovery. They would HAVE to see ALL of the movies to catch all of the differences.

Maybe Liara could be the de facto LI but also have Shep have some unresolved Sherlock/Watson sexual tension going on with Kaidan. :innocent:

depending on budget we would be lucky to see any Quarians at all. While Tali is vital to the story, her legs are not human which means expensive CG. species like the Asari can be done with blue makeup and similar head latex methods used by Star Trek to make Klingons.

I REALLY don't want there to be a Mass Effect movie. Mass Effect is about OUR choices (excluding the ending) so making a movie would make things "canon". But if they do a movie popularity dictates it'd be Liara Posted Image

But if they were smart they'd go with the safe choice. Sex sells in the end so do things that are familiar to a HUMAN audience. I think they'd make Shepard romance Ashley in the first one because she's a human woman, then he'd romance Miranda in the second one because sex sells, then whoever was most popular with the fans of the movie would be the romance in the last one.

I still think making a movie with Shepard in it is a BAD idea... Posted Image

I think your point is spot on.  If they make a movie, it's for a mass audience.  And a mass audience isn't going to be into the chick with blue bones on her head.  Hell, they could even try for that team miranda v team ashley stuff that's so popular these days...

BioWare seems to consider the Liara romance canon (based on in-game content)

But Ashley has a good chance (she's the LI in the advertisements)

I think Shepard being in the movie is a TERRIBLE idea, there is no canon Shepard.

Movie shepard would be Paragade. Because fully Paragon would be a drama and fully renegade would be an ****. and movie fans would want someone who at least once and awhile drops a bad oneliner while blowing away a baddie.

If they do not alter the story it whould be Liara, Asley, Tali (small chance), more than one of them or no one at all.

"And a mass audience isn't going to be into the chick with blue bones on her head."
There are dozens of sci-fi-examples of human+non-human romances.
As long as it is not too alien (like hanar or rachni) mass audience is at least ok with it.

I would guess Ashley or Miranda for Mshep.(but If it was a Female Shepard, I would guess Liara.)

If the movie follows the original story line of ME (which once got stated won't happen), Ash will die on Virmire. She might be Shepard's LI from the beginning, but definitely dies in favor of Liara.

Of course, only if the movie follows the plot of ME1. If not, it's not even certain ME1 characters will return. Joker for example won't be there (heard that rumor). So I guess Ash won't be there as well. Wouldn't be surprised if Liara is the only returning character next to Shepard. And Garrus.

They'll probably heavily oversexualize any female in the series. I wouldn't bet on the Ashley we see in the movie being an accurate reflection of her ME1 character. Same goes for Liara. They're probably going to be eye candy first and foremost.

One more reason why I think making a movie about ME1 is just ridiculous. If they wanted to make a movie set in the ME universe they could've covered the discovery of the prothean ruins on mars, the discovery of EEZO and Mass effect technology, the Charon relay, the first contact war and the first human ship to arrive on the Citadel (for example).

Instead they have to cover something that everyone who is even remotely interested in ME has already played through.

*In Legion's voice* "BioWare, I question your judgement."

^Yeah, what's the point of creating Mass Effect movie based on ME1?

Every fan already played it at least once and it's gonna have less story content since movies tend to be hell of a lot shorter then games.

And with all this many unexplored and interesting stuff from ME lore, again why Bioware?

It's just a recipe for disaster.

I would prefer it to be Ashley, not Liara. I'm sick of the blue b!tch.

Sorry, that was uncalled for. But she's been so over used and overshadows characters that I care deeply about. She's fine, but they need to decide her personality, not swap it out like she's trying on outfits at a clothes store. And I would really love if she weren't shoved in our faces so much...

I don't think there will be a romance, unless its towards the very end, like most movies. If I had to say, probably Ashley. Besides, who knows, maybe this is before Virmire. The movie (I think) is set sometime in ME1 or after the events but before ME2

I still think is a big mistake doing a movie of Shepard, we all know how ends the movies based on games (like hitman, the guy really dont lookalike the hitman ingame, and the story is really crappy imo) anyway, they could at least take Jon Grissom or the First Contact War into the big screen, I think would make fans more happy IMO!

About romance, I always saw Ashley to MaleShep and Liara to FemShep, but in the movie, I think will be Ashley or Liara or No Romance at all would be the best IMO!

Guess we need to wait and see!

No, Legendary Pictures came out at Comic Con last year and said they are focusing on male Shepard.

Like most game to movies, they're probably going to Hollywoodize the crap out of it. They will put a romance in, no doubt and it won't be Liara, because that'll be too weird for mainstream. The female LI has to be a beautiful, ubber feminine white woman for the mainstream audience to accept. They'll probably put in a bastardized version of Ashley or manage to throw Miranda in a lot sooner and cut Ashley completely. They'll probably replace Kaidan with a male black side kick, but he won't be Jacob because they don't want to touch poor Jacob.

Considering bioware's current direction, male shep will probably be with Kaiden.

Liara. Tali's possible, depending on movie!Shep's age (which may change depending on the actor), but Liara's the only person that survives everything - although movie!Shep might date Miranda in 2.

I mean, if it has to be Male!Shep, then I'd prefer him to be with Kaidan. But I'm well aware that's not going to happen.

Mordin: Has to be Liara, anyone else might have gotten it wrong.
