The ME game universe is all the "movie" I need IMO.

And if they end up catering to the movie goers in the future games, like with Silent Hill where Homecoming suddenly had big breasted nurses from the movie and not because the main character had a sexual libido, then I am VERY worried.

Pretty much has to be Liara. Unless they suddenly decied to rewrite Ashley to be nonboring.

I don't think they would do it, but Tali would actually be an interesting option.(and they would not have to use any crappy photoshot.  )

It will be Tali, for many reasons, just too tired to list them lol, mainly her's in the most real romance (IMO), starts with a crush in ME1, builds up in ME2, and then theres ME3 *cough*. And the mystery behind the mask, and shes also the most consisdent char in the series, for females anyway, Garrus for males.

Thing is, Hollywood doesn't care about most of that.

If it's being based on the storyline, my money's on Liara.

She has to meld with him to help make sense of the visions and the Cipher. Once it becomes apparent that it's an intimate act among asari, the rest would fall into place.

They said they were going to choose the 'canon' that would fit best in a film. My guess is:
Maleshep - War Hero - Spacer - Paragon - Soldier - LI = Ashley - Ashley saved on Virmire - saved the council - Wrex survives.

Well no matter what happens as far as the movie goes, I think we can all reach a consensus that the actors who portray the live action versions of the characters will NEVER do justice to the characters like their voice actors do. Unless they manage to have some of their VAs actually recast for the movie, which I doubt. It's possible, and it would be a good idea, but I doubt it. Unless they have the live actors just be models and then the VAs dub them like Darth Maul. But that would be so strange. Might as well just make the whole movie a video game rendered style like Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within (yay sucky movies), LOL.

No, Legendary Pictures came out at Comic Con last year and said they are focusing on male Shepard.

Like most game to movies, they're probably going to Hollywoodize the crap out of it. They will put a romance in, no doubt and it won't be Liara, because that'll be too weird for mainstream. The female LI has to be a beautiful, ubber feminine white woman for the mainstream audience to accept. They'll probably put in a bastardized version of Ashley or manage to throw Miranda in a lot sooner and cut Ashley completely. They'll probably replace Kaidan with a male black side kick, but he won't be Jacob because they don't want to touch poor Jacob. 

Ah yes.  I forgot about the "noble" death.

This is so dumb, Shepard shouldn't be in the movie. There is no "canon" Shepard.

All the LI's are great, each have their own very passionate fanbase. Choosing one over another for the movie is just going to alienate fans of all the LI's that weren't chosen.

I think its hard to say. If Bioware was making the movie, it would probably be Liara, since she seems like the canon LI in the series. However, since a big movie company is taking it over, they may pick Ashley or Miranda to avoid the whole alien-love part.

I'm curious when they say they are using Shepard but not the story from the game. I wonder if it will be about his time before the Reaper threat? I feel like it would be odd if they took the character of Shepard and completely rewrote or ignore the game storyline.

Casey Hudson and Mac Walters (I think) are executive producers on the movie.

Just putting that out there since there was so much "developers-loving-Liara" present since the ME2 comic.

Come on if you had never heard of ME what would push you to see it more--a brown haired female that was your average good looking chick a strange looking sexy blue alien with tentacles in her hair? (Not that Ashley is boring but lookwise you can't deny Liara has more appeal).

I'd actullay rather have Tali as a Love interest later on but I think (if they did all three games) Liara has the most connection and has a lot of story in ME3. In 2 she is in the background but shadow broker would work nicely into the movie, or she could be in the background easily.
