The one time I chose the Geth was because I was going to choose Red at the end anyway, and Tali had died in ME2. < 1000 EMS. So lolz. Now that ending was just... Oh, and peace was an option this time. My scorched galaxy play through. PS: I'd blown up the Heretic base too.
If peace wasn't a option who would you have picked?

The point about Geth values and human values is interesting. This does mean that if the Geth believe that siding with the Reapers is more likely to preserve them than continuing to fight along side organic civilization that they will do so - immediately and together AND the Reapers will understand immediately what happened as they are also synthetic life form while the Allies have to recover from the confusion of the sudden betrayal. The Krogans might do the same thing if they thought it would increase their odds of survival, but they would not do it suddenly and as a collective unit (there would be dissent). Additionally, even the Krogans are likely to place an intrinsic value on organic life where the Geth will not - they have even mentioned (through Legion) that they remain skeptical about any organics except Shepard. This does not reduce their value as living, sentient beings who then have intrinsic rights, but it may influence the calculus of whether they can be "trusted".

Geth is not a race. They are machines, and nothing more, especially if you prevent the upload. A life prevented is NOT a life extinguished.
