as much as i love Grunt (his violence is so pure and innocent), i would have to give it to Wrex.  Wrex is how old?  and been fighting for how long?  Grunt has his perfect genes, but even he admits his training was incomplete and imperfect. 

tbh, i don't think they would challenge each other...  they are both smarter than that.  Wrex put him in charge of Aralakh company so he could prove his capability while being supported by a unified force of other krogan - thus keeping Grunt alive while proving his worth to the other clans who doubted a tank-bred.
