The ending reminds me of the Kobayashi Maru test.

Ahh,, Kirk he would of talked the Starchild and the Reapers into shutting down just like Landru...
saving the day the Kirk way

You know, when they killed Kirk in Star Trek generations, even Shatner refused to let him stay dead. Wrote his own series of novels in which the Borg brought him back to life as his younger self... very crazy, but it was still cool to see that even Shatner wouldn't let Kirk die.

LOVED those books!

And that's how you have a great ending with no boss fight.  Star Trek has done it for years, why can't Mass Effect?  You know, a game where you talk more than you fight (mostly).

I've never really bought into "they planned this all along" but there is evidence they intended to include it and were simply rushed. The Final Hours app says outright they were trying to include it but had "technical difficulties". But I still have hope that they may end up running with this as you could spin it as "clarification" and thus far it's the only theory/solution that addresses not only Star-Jar's idiotic logic but the problems inherent to Star-Jar's very existence.

Oh aye, they could easily run with it. Slap together a "Sixth Sense" flashback showing how nobody pays attention to the kid on Earth, James asking if you can hear "that hum", shrubs magically showing around the ground zero in London, Shepard armor change, and it feels organic enough. Sure it would be cheap, but still miles better than all the Citadel events actually being real.

Yeah, but the Kobayshi Maru was designed to teach you.

Reaper God Child is designed to break completely.

It's probably been posted before in this thread but what Kirk and Shepard have in common is their disbelief in no-win scenarios. That's the precise reason Starchild scene is so messed up.

Sorry for bringing up obvious points, but they are worth ranting about until Bioware gets it.

...What if ME1-ME3 was just a practice exercise given to Shepard to see if he's N7 ready?!

Theory is great, but as Family Guy put it, "Isn't the Dream sequence idea just a big middle finger to the fans?"

i would say yes if its the finale.

but if its just something leading into the finale, then it'd be acceptable.

It's been a number of years since I last read them.  I especially loved the Mirror Universe trilogy of books he and the Reeve-Stevens' did.  Finally, both Kirks met face-to-face, as well as both Spocks.

I was totally creeped out at Tiberius's little "museum" of horrors.  Had a stuffed Checkov and the "tranya" kid (forget his name) on display in glass cases.

(shudder):?

I literally just watched this episode and immediately thought of ME3. And even if the ending wasn't a dream... It was still a middle finger to the fans
