Look at the endings we got.

Does it look like Bioware 'listened' to you?

Good lord. Who asked for an awful, vague and nonsensical ending?

This thread is wayyyyy off base.

Isn't that happening now....the war on fans on the forums. It would be interesting to hear that story of Tetrisblock.

Now, there is no war on the fans but a war of the fans. Many are uniting under one banner for a cause. It's quite amazing when you think about it. It was much less organized back then.

It's too bad, but this could be the case. I for one liked the planet exploration in ME1 and very strongly missed it in ME2 & 3. Stumbling onto a rachni attack on a squad of marines in the middle of nowhere? Come on, that kind of thing was awesome detail in sections of the game so far removed to the plot that I bet plenty of people totally missed out on them. I wish the entire series stuck to the format of ME1.

BW listens. Yes. Yet, this isn't the result of that. BW didn't get to do what they wanted.

EA doesn't listen to fans or their studios, and EA forced some restrictions upon BW because they feel they know how to properly market games to mass markets instead of niche markets that BW was famous for getting the most out of them. Everyone knows this.

I didn;t complain anything about ME2 other than lack of Mako exploration ... and Liara Shadow Broker DLC ... which I both got ... so I was contend about ME2 ... ME3 totally throw me only at ending .... everything I knew ME was so changed in last couple of minutes

I wonder how a "this is our fault" argument and BioWare's "artistic integrity" argument can be reconciled.....I don't see how both can be true.

Blaming our selves for Bioware's interpretations of our wants in the game makes no sense. If this is what they thought we wanted in the ending of ME3 they miscalculated massively. I can't see people complaining THAT badly about Harbinger or the human reaper... These things I can accept as artistic choice. Saren/Sovereign fight wasn't that bad either, they were the central villain of the game in ME1. Granted I was confused by Harbingers appearance in ME2 when I first played, honestly didn't have a clue as to who he was until looking it up.. like "Ohhh he is a Reaper like Sovereign, oh okay then"..

The endings in ME1 and 2 can be acceptable, They fit the games they were in, ME3's ending didn't fit and the loud backlash of that is clear.

As for constructive criticism, a lot of dedicated fan already left it. I know I did weeks ago.. and that is the feedback Bioware claims they are going to listen to. The "X this sucks" comments will get as much consideration as they are worth... which is not much

So blah bla blah... I will end on this note, Bioware should ask Garrus to help them Re-calibrate for ME3's ending, They misfired...

I was mainly a lurker, doing more reading than replying to topics here until I experienced the ending to ME3. I was happy with the ME titles and although DA2 was a let down but I wasn't upset enough to come here to vent back then.

I'm easy to please, just give me a good story and characters for my rpgs. The ending to ME3 was anything but that and the fault lies with the the people who wrote and directed it. If Bioware knew truly the fans, they would have forseen the trouble that would erupt from this because of the endingS.

You confuse gameplay with storyline. Most people are unhappy about the storyline of ME3 not the gameplay.

Like I said before, BioWare doesn't know how to fix a problem when something is complained about. They instead, choose to remove it. Also, no-one asked for a ****ty ending and for their choices to not matter. BioWare has lately had a habit for promising things and not delivering.

Bioware has been in this business since 1995. We are gamers don't really have any experience in the gaming world in terms of making a game. I think if someone came up with a fan made game it would not have the quality of someone who has been doing this sort of thing for years.

I'd say leave it to the experts. They know what's best.

Great post and I agree.. Bioware caters and listens to its fans waay too much and the result is the fans still being upset lol so might as well do your own thing

Which is exactly the problem with BioWare. They don't know how to listen to feedback and apply it.

No, they don't! Not anymore. If they've listened to us, they wouldn't have screwed up. You might think you're loyal, but you're just a sycophant.

Where is that quote again? I'll just paraphrase

We are proud of our work and will not be changing it

Kinda flies in the face of listening to the fans, so how can it be the fans fault?

The best part is that they don't even need to change the current existing endings, just add more or add more modifications to the currently existing ones.

I would not attribute the fault SOLELY to the fans. It's absolutely true that most people here don't make a habit of pointing out the Pros when they b*tch about some Cons and as a result it ends up sounding like people don't like something at all.

HOWEVER: It would then be Bioware's mistake if they acted rashly based on that b*tching. If they didn't bother to analyze the complaints and fix it based on their own objectives (like keeping a vehicle system and just tweaking it to address complaints) then that is THEIR failing.

They have made a habit of overcompensating. That is a design decision that only they can to take blame for.

I've played that game three times and never heard him say that because I never pick that option. I never saw a problem with augments and they did do it to save my life. I wasn't jaded about it.
