Kind of how it is to talk to someone who hates the ending.

your opinion is the only one that matters, right?

I hate the ending among other things.  I wish I could like or love the ending.  If you can more power to you.   I get more aggressive when people call my views whining.  Just like I'm sure people get ticked off if they are called corporate apologists or something negative like that for liking the ending.  When it becomes here's how your wrong argument civility tends to get thrown out the window.

Self-selecting polls are used in the market research industry. 72K votes is huge by any standard.

Nothing is certain unless we ask every man, woman, and child what they thought of the ending, but we can state with a high degree of confidence that the majority liked the ending as-is.

I could pose the same question to you given how many threads you keep entering in order to defend the ending.

I'll tell you one thing though it's alot more than i do, just about any negative ending related thread that pops up here you're in there defending the ending along with the usual suspects.

Yeah.. Even presidential polls usually restrict themselves to under 2000 people. They can still predict an outcome almost every time. The concept of polling isn't to ask everyone their opinion. That would eliminate the entire need for polling if we could magically know everyone's opinion.

72,000 votes is more than enough to see the majority opinion. The CNET poll has 20,000, the IGN facebook poll has almost 20,000 votes also.

To say the BSN poll has no credibility is ridiculous. WE ARE THEIR BIGGEST FANS.

If the ending makes no sense to most of the people who know pretty much everything there is to know about Mass Effect, then the casual gamer must really hate it.

I really want to see the Gamestop trade-in numbers. I have a feeling they are absurdly high.

With a random sample, you only need about 750 people to predict the population of 10 million with a margin of error around 3-5%

People want to assume that a self-selected sample of ME3 owners has zero correlation with the population of ME3 owners. The BSN sample is huge, very lopsided, and there is confirming evidence everywhere you look.

I was looking at Xbox data in the US on VGC (comparison purposes only) and noticed sales dropped below ME2 sales for weeks 3 through 5.

Image IPB

Also, VGC revised down total global sales estimates by 460K yesterday. Poof! Gone. I guess they realized NDP estimates were better.

For EA the first month matters, for future of Bioware this statistics isn't promising.

Actually for comparison using VGChartz Skyrim went down  to about 140k by week 5 then went back up to 300k for the next couple weeks if I recall.

This is correct they'll most likely try to argue against it though.

The graph is pretty much perfect and explains a few things, opening week sales will always do better than a previous title to quote a character from fairly odd parents " I'll see you in the sequel which always does better than the original in the opening week but is never as good as the original. "  if you understand the comment i posted there^^

It would also explain the price drops, most stores in the UK have dropped the sell price which is odd for a game that's only been out a month which in itself is an indicator it's not selling aswell as EA planned. Even now titles such as skyrim are still original priced in some UK stores while ME3 has taken a tumble.

@Axisevolve, i love the javik avatar makes him look friendly instead of the douchebag that he is in game <3

I have shares in a few companys, and get yearly reports, and even in those i dont get the whole sales figures.

so i have very little faith in online reports of finances as they simply dont get access to the bean counters logs.

now i bet if i invested millions i could tell you what the bioware staff spend on toilet paper each month :D.

Probably. I'm a dues-paid member of Team Meh, myself. ME3's ending was pretty bad as Bio endings go, but it's nowhere near as bad as, say, KotOR2 or the NWN2 OC.

Not zero. Unknown.
