Krogan Vanguard: Rage Broken

Maybe this was done on purpose to balance it with the other krogan classes that lack charge insta heal mechanics ..Still they should've mentioned if it were so ...

Even with this handicap - the vangard seems stronger than the other two krogan classes ...

Even speced for health/shields, I don't find it difficult to chain 3 melee kills in 30 seconds with only the melee synergy +25% damage after charge, fitness Martial Artist +75% after H.Melee kill, and a melee weapon mod.

Once I can add even more melee damage and +30% damage resistance.... should be fun!

But even so I can't just seem to shake the feeling that it's not enough melee damage without Rage, and the selectable passive melee damage bonuses. I mean, in Silver it doesn't really matter, you one-shot a Cannibal and two-shot a Marauder anyway, even without HM bonus or rage active (with both active you one-shot a Marauder). But in Gold on my Soldier it seemed I needed a million heavy melees to kill a Geth Hunter. But 1200/1200 vs 1600/1600, not to mention the 10% damage reduction, seems a lot to lose just for melee damage given how much damage Gold enemies dish out, even if it is a hefty amount of melee damage that you gain. Pfffft.

The class description says getting into melee with a BattleMaster is bad idea. It should be. Right now it's not.

Melee a bad idea with a class built to close distance rapidly and having the hitting power of your average freight train. Errrh, that'd make very little sense. If you don't do melee, you're only really left with your weapons, at which point you could just play one of any number of other race/class combos.

Methinks he meant that OTHER people/things shouldn't try to melee the Battlemaster, not the other way around.
Hence... it's not as scary for them now because our Rage is impotent.

We can still hit hard.... but my God, not nearly as hard as my Sentinal.  Ouch.

If what they are saying is correct, adding points to your Rage passive doesn't change anything, so it wouldn't be intentional. It could be that they meant for it to be this way when Rage is maxed and that we are somehow getting the full Rage effect even with zero points in it. That's probably less likely, but I could see it working for balance reasons. But either way, if they are correct then Rage is currently broken.

Bump. Any chance we can get someone with a Bioware tag to comment? Even just a, "we are looking in to this" ? Or even, "we've looked in to it and it is working as intended." That'd be nice :)

It would be nice... though they haven't exactly set a precedent for this.

After all, we've been telling them for over a month that there is not enough EMS in SP to get the highest achievable ending with multiplayer or iOS apps, and they've either been silent or told us we are flat out wrong (when we have proven otherwise through datamining the actual game files).

No, I'm afraid you're still pretty much a douche for that one, marsh. <_<

Battlemasters can still take Stardusk's strategy and go for +Health/Shield and Weapon Synergy evolutions.

my bad and yeah i tested it too it's broken on my vanguard but not on my sentinel (the +30% melee while in rage)

Yup, Sentinals and Soldiers are A-OK!

And yeah, Battlemasters can still be pretty beastly if built around high health/shields and weapon usage.

Krogan vanguards need their biotic charge to also count to help synergistic it properly it would make sense right? I mean it's slow and understandable but I think with the fix it should permit to be activation of the rage too to make it more compatible and better cause not only that problem it's hard to synergize the character properly since the barrier itself can't even blow up after a biotic charge....

It's more because the other classes are kinda meh, although Krogan Soldier is decent(but is still a solder unfortunatly).


my Krogan Vanguard would rage about this if he could.

Sir you should have asked him to change his class if he is not host for other reasons and not just kick him since he was a vanguard., They are decent class overall if played smartly but many times when not being the host the suffer from very pointless glitchs one of which makes them float though the sky and are not able to do anything basically.
