Stay inside the hut. Singularity eats shields, albeit slowly. And kill the small mooks first.

Go to the rooftops via the ladder just after climbing out of the pit. Put your squad behind the wall at the front of the building to the right of the ladder. Then go to the other roof on the left. Order your squad to attack the atlas. You do the same but watch for troops coming up the ladder on the left building.

Use throw to knock them off. Or something else, or just shoot them to death. Atlas pretty much won't be able to do a thing while your in cover up there so you can easily work on it or the mooks as you choose.

Who are your squadmates and what level are you at?

I suggest Garrus + Liara. Upgrade Garrus' Proximity Mine so that enemies take 25% more damage afterwards for 8s. Make sure he also has Squad AP, with the Armor Weakening evolution at rank 6. Then, hit the Atlas with a Proximity Mine, Liara's Warp, and your Throw. Warp + Throw will eat through Armor quickly, Shields slower but that's what Proximity Mine and Garrus' Overload are for. AP Ammo will rape the Atlas once it loses its shields, especially if Garrus has the Particle Rifle.

2 all

killed this damn thing already, with good cover and biotic combos its easy like squashing a bug, even no matter who squadmates are , my mistake was staying near the Javik's pod (where is no cover), 'cause i feared the mech will blow the pod up.

Started new (2nd) playthrough as adept, after buying "From ashes" DLC, all fas fun an even easier then first play as an infiltrator, then found myself unable to kill this ***ing Atlas, in the end of mission. I stupidly started the DLC mission before Palaven, so only squadmates avalible are Liara and Vega, and none has abilities useful againist shield, and adept also doesnt... Any advice how to take this thing out, especially if cerberus guys supporting it seem to be limitless?

I do it before Palaven all the time.

I'd guess it's harder if you if you don't have an ME2 import and the points that go with it. If you do, you can kill him pretty cheap.

After you start Javik's reanimation a new wave comes in from the right side. The building directly in front of you at that point is a good spotto take them from. There's cover going in that can let you take some out.

Then go through the backdoor of the place and you can flank a bunch more.

Stay there when the Atlas comes. Park your squaddies on either side of the front door and you can attack and dodge the Atlas' rockets from there.

Look out for the back door though because you'll get, like 3 or so troopers coming in.

yep easiest way is on the roof. The atlas AI wasn't written right for that and it gets too close to the building so you can just peek over and fire without getting hit. It is kinda cheap, but I was doing a pistol only playthrough.

Well I would recommend you shoot at it with weapons, tech, and biotics...

There's a ladder to get on top of the building across from where the Atlas is. It can't get to you from there.

On my fourth playthrough (on casual for sh!ts & giggles since I had beat the game twice on insanity) I managed to break the spawning of the atlas so it never showed up because I killed the first wave of enemies before they managed to jump out of their dropships.

That's where I made my last stand when I ran out of ammo and had to finish the thing off with a low-level concussive shot... On my first PT, which was on Insanity...

Can we /thread? This whole mission is only sort of tough if you neglect to spam combos, imo, as the threat is not so much Cerberus, but running out of ammo.

Wouldn't taking all those weapons put your cooldown recharge way into the red as an adept?

Strangely - but no, it didnt. It gave me even ~ 10 or 20% cooldown bonus. Argus rifle + Shuriken SMG with ultralight materials+ Predator. If I'd take shotgun or Mantis instead of rifle - yes,its about 70% penalty...

If you're carrying anything more than a heavy pistol as an Adept, you're severely limiting the amount of damage you could be doing. Biotic explosions are by far the most powerful "weapon" in the game, and Adepts with +180-200% recharge speed can set up and detonate them by themselves every couple seconds.

Go into the building across the way ... play window tag with it. Frankly, those things are so slow to turn, if there's no other enemies, you can just stay behind it and shoot it.

Haha, I did the exact same thing.

Basically I took out all the minions first, then hunkered down in the bunker with Liara and James.  I was out of ammo by then, so I just got Liara to us Singularity, James to use Carnage, and I followed that up with Energy Drain.  If you don't have Energy Drain, and niether Liara or James have useful abilities...I guess the best you can do is try to keep your squadmates alive while they pummel that Atlas with shots.  It'll be a long battle, and you'll probably be frustrated when your squadmates don't follow your instructions to attack, which often happens (Damn you Vega!).

Definitely a the optimal option, yup. If you're carrying only one weapon I'd probably recommend an Ultralight'ed Hornet as it does just as well but with significantly better damage and ammo... though one would assume that the OP doesn't have it yet.

The biggest issue here is, frankly, I find it renders the game rather boring.

I want to love SMGs, but they're useless against armor unless you've got an ammo power on. At least assault rifles get armor-piercing mods. But if you're spamming warp-throw and blowing fools to smithereens you don't even need a gun, so really anything goes as long as it's light.

It was a long fight for me. I hardly ever got hurt, but it was still long. And my first time fighting one to boot.

Basically, I just hid as best as I could behind a counter and threw warp->throw at it while keeping my head on a swivel to make sure that I didn't get pincered by enemy units. Not really effective, but it worked well enough to stay alive and complete the mission. I never really came close to dieing, but it did take probably 2-3x longer to kill the thing than what it took me in the Grissom Academy mission.

Actually, both the Hornet and the Hurricane are very effective vs armour. They're really the only SMGs worth using full stop, to be honest.

It's a lot easier to destroy an Atlas than it was a YMIR Mech in ME2
