I am wondering as i can not find in any information in the game about a hot key targeting ability. What i am thinking is that having to manually select a target in the middle of a whirling mosh pit of bodies is a pain. Is there some way to make it so that by pressing a key say "shift" that i could cycle through hostile targets? Also could there be a way to press a key say "control" where i could cycle through friendly targets?

I have been searching for such a mod but unable to locate one. Hopefully someone will create it.

You mean something like "tab-targeting" where you just cycle through the enemies from nearest to furthest?

tab targeting or even just a way to map target nearest enemy to the keyboard with out having to click with the mouse.

I hope when something like this comes out. The way things are, targeting is really bothersome, especially in the close to the action camera mode. If I remember well, KOTOR had such a function, assigned to key Z by default.

Most games have this function. In searching i found a post from someone at Bioware stated they are looking to add more keyboard functionality, hopefully this is part of it...They apparently just overlooked putting the functions in. Even creating a mock skill that targets nearest visible would be helpful.

Alternatively, a great addition would be to make shift-clicking ignore friendly targets to allow us to click on enemies hiding behind our own party members. I cannot count how many times I have been frustrated by being unable to target an enemy because my own team members are in the way of clicking it. Sure there is a nice pause option, but some of us prefer to play through in real time.

They overlooked including one of the most basic features imaginable in a modern-day game? And nobody, not a single person in QA, development, or beta-testing thought to mention it?

No way. For some inexplicable reason, there had to be a conscious decision not to include a targeting hotkey.

Worst. Decision. Ever.

Yes. Please God yes. Anything to stop the never-ending character-switching that happens if you miss clicking your target by one pixel. Didn't anybody in QA play a mage or an archer? FFS.

I agree, this could not have been just overlooked. It's such a fundamental and basic function, someone along the line would've brought it up.

The tab key is used for finding interactable objects in DA, and it's the inventory key in Fallout 3.

Probably not happening unless somebody just makes it into an ability and you put it in your quickslot bar to activate. Tried it myself once, the results were sort of meh.
