So, every bit of DLC I have has disappeared from my game, both official and unofficial. Stone Prisoner is now back in the shopping tab.

 Two things I did that probably caused it: looked (that's all, just opened it) at the addins.xml file;

DA Updater crashed a dozen times in a row trying to install some DLC (all different).

Question is, what's the fix? Until I figure that one out, I can't play the game. Any help?

Simply looking at addins.xml or any other file for that matter won't disrupt things - either you have edited parts of it you didn't intend to, or - most likely DAUpdater has messed things up for you.

Can you check your addins.xml file and see how it looks now?

Does your "...\\\\my documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\AddIns" have any content? It should list a number of subfolders for your installed DLC - and of course, these subfolders must have some content... :innocent:

addins.xml has a list of all of my DLC in it, with various parameters and descriptions.

...\\\\AddIns has all the folders it had before with the content inside.

No idea what the problem is.

Thanks a ton for your reply, by the way.

That's an odd bug... but maybe you could try this:

1) Uncheck all dlc

2) log out (log in is on the bottom left of menu screen)

3) exit game

4) restart game

5) check all dlc

I'm suggesting this b/c it's a workaround for a bug that causes Warden's Peak stuff to vanish. Basically, the authentication gets messed up, so you have to be logged off for the dlc to work... otherwise one day your items just vanish...

Also, don't ever save when your stuff is gone... or they will be permanently gone. For instance, if you have the warden's armor and then it vanishes... then you save... you'll never get it back.

Right.
Try this:

1. Start -> Run... -> type services.msc and hit enter.
You should see a window called "Services" (or some such equivalent, depending on what localized version of windows you're using obviously ;))

2. Find service Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater. Start the service if it isn't running (this service is supposed to start once you start the game, but...)

3. Start the game, logging into the DA servers (i.e. play online). Wait a few seconds, then chose tab "Downloadable Content".

4. If your DLC is authorized, you now should see everything you've installed under the "installed" tab.

5. If your DLC still is unauthorized, check your DA:O config utility and verify that you have a registration key for the game. If that is lacking, there's most likely your problem. Check this post in that case.

Thanks fkirenicus. I did what you said, and my official DLC went to the "Download Progress" tab at 0%. Also, my unofficial DLC is still nowhere to be found.

Uhmm... OK. Are you saying that this works again (does it in fact download the official DLC, or does it just stay at 0%), or that you still have problems?

As for your "unofficial" DLC, do you mean DA:O projects such as the Camp Chest and so on? I only have official DLC as per now myself, so won't be able to help you much with unofficial DLC, sorry. :-(

Well I'm slightly confused in that I still have all this content on my HDD and in my addins.xml, yet it doesn't show up anywhere.

If I have to redownload everything all over again, I think DA:O is going back on the shelf for a while.

Update: I opened the addins.xml with OpenOffice, which changed the formatting of the code. For whatever God-forsaken reason, it added quotes before and after every line, and added more quotes to where there were already quotes. Long-story-short, my addins file is hosed, and it would take a week to edit out all the errors. I'm fed up, and DA is going back on the shelf for a while.

There isn't any way to repair this using the config tool either? Am not at a computer with DA:O installed now, so can't check until later today.

I advise you to try it nonetheless.
