Since 1998, I am a long-time fan of Bioware games. I've played BG1 and
2, IWD1 and 2, PS:T, NWN1 and 2 and all expansions. (And Jade Empire
too.)

Since that time, I'm strictly a single player gamer, and I
don't really care for player made modules/expansions or online
functions.

I do want official expansions/content though, and I'm willing to pay for it. But, there are two requirements:

1.
The content should not depend on an internet connection or online
functions. (Because of this, I never bought the NWN Premium modules,
that depend on being always online.)
2. It should be possible to backup the content.

The
reason for this is that I am prone to play/replay games I like for a
very long time. Now and again, I still do a Baldur's Gate run. I don't
want to depend on (online) features that might not be available anymore
in several years.

So, does the DLC work without using online
functions (except for the initial download of course?) and is there a
possibility to backup the DLC, short of zipping up the entire game
folder after every addition?

Thanks for any answer.
