Yes! And there are rumors Andraste was a powerful mage. Maybe even blood magic.
Also the timing, as someone further up mentioned - the tevinter imperium and the first blight. I still think the magisters created the first Archdemon, who then went on to make darkspawn out of its captors.
Also, according to the chantry, blood magic is the source of all evil. Darkspawn = evil.
I would also like to not have a discussion whether religion is a valid thing or not. That is beside the point and will only lead into a flame war. We're talking about a game and any parallels to real world religions are coincidental
