I'm sure she can figure something out with a new induction port or something.

Liara fans could be lucky though. If there's a sequel set a few hundred years in the future she could be still alive...

are you really so braindead &  heartless that I have to spell it out for you, some people deal with there real life pain by turning on there favorite games & loosing themselfs in the world  story. It helps them deal with & come to terms with there grief, but when your favorite games couse you to feel just as sh** as your already feeling then it ends up defeating the object of the escape.

Escapism is not a healthy way of dealing with serious real-life problems. Escapism is only running away from the problem, not dealing with it.

Sorry that I appear to cold and heartless. I'm really not a heartless person. I've just seen to much BS in real-life and nobody does anythng about it. So I've learned to deal with things myself.

But really, escapism is one thing, but whining about it on the internet is something else. Crying about how you feel so depressed after ME3 isn't gonna help you in any way. How about some less self-pity and emo-talk and more trying to actually do something about it? Feeling sorry for yourself isn't going to help you, it's only going to make it worse.

I'll give you an example, when I was 15 I was raped by my best friend who I'd grown up with since we were babies. His mother & my mother were really good friends, they used to bath us together, we'd grown up beside eachother. I used to go up his house every weekend to keep him company while his parents were out down the pub, we'd play videogames. Then one day his parents phoned up to say they weren't going to be home till the early hours of the morning. After he put the phone down on they he called to me & asked me to "come here I want to show you something" I asumed it was a computer game or something because he always kept him console & games in him mum & dad's room because his was so small. When I went in the room he jumped out from behind the door & threw me across the room, all I could focus on was the look in his eyes. He had me pinned down, I was so scared I froze for a time but I was lucky that I managed to snap myself out of it  fight back. I managed to get away but after that I was too ashamed & scared to leave my house for a time as he lived 3 doors up from me. I've never had a close relashonship with my family & never had any support in that time of my life, i was a scared 15 year old girl with noone to turn to so I turned to my games. I chose to loose myself in my Final fantasy VIII game in the hopes that it would help my get his eyes out of my head even if it was only for a short time. with all the bad things going on in my life at that time if it wasn't for my games I would have commited suicide but I did'nt because my games gave me hope that there was still some good in the world.

Should you really be sharing all this on an online forum?

But really, I see a pattern here and it's not a healthy one:

Your real-life sucks, so you escape in your games.

Now your games turn out to suck, so you escape to the forums of said games.

What's next? Where are you going to escape next when this forum turns out to suck?

The more important question is: When are you going to stop running away and actually going to face your problems?

it happened 15 years ago I've moved on & I'm the stronger for it, if it helps others who maybe suffering from this or anyother torment by helping them realise there not alone then that makes me happy.

It's not that it's unhealthy at all, sometimes grief can be so extreame you need time to come to terms with it, you can't deal with anything without first coming to terms with it. Video games helps some people through that prosses, take Shep as an example, people playing ME who are having a hard time in life will look at Shep & think yup my life right now is sh** but I need to be strong just like my Shep.

I happy that you have the will to do whatever you feel needs doing but not everyone is like that, some need a encouragement in one way or another. There are different forms of strengths & weakness, everyone has there own & you can't judge people for dealing with things differently to you.

@Luc0s: You miss the point. What you call "whining about it on the internet" actually could help people. See, the OP started this thread to share his feelings with us and maybe get some support, just to get cheered up a litte. But happens? People are making fun of him, assuming he has dramatic real life problems, he's weird, something is wrong with him. But no, I don't think is the case. People just think there's something wrong with a person, when that person is different from themselves or the majority of people.

I just think this whole drama that's going on here is a bit over the top and a little exaggerated, that's all. People need to calm down, relax, take a chill pill and realize that this is just a game. There are plenty of other amazing games that you can enjoy (or use for escapism if you fancy doing that). Just pick of The Witcher 2 and forget this piece of crap Mass Effect 3. :D

Even if you see it as a "drama", do you think making fun of these people will solve it?
There's a difference between telling someone "to calm down and relax" and simply insulting others.

I won't judge how people handle with their real-life problems. Everyone has their baggage and everyone deals with that baggage in their own way.

But kicking up all this drama about a video-game (like the OP does) is just something I can't take very serious. I'm sorry, but that's just how I feel about all this.

If you can't take it serious, then just go an leave the thread. It is okay if you see it that way, but that doesn't mean you have to hurt the OP in any way, as this might be very serious for him, even if it isn't for you.

Fair enough. I'll be going now. I've said what I wanted to say, so there is nothing else for me to do here.

As soon as The Witcher forums are back up (they're down now) I'll be hanging there. See ya.

It is for the PC. :)

But I'm also waiting for tomorrow. Tomorrow my super awsome and super limited Dark Edition for the Xbox360 is going to arrive and I'm going to play the crap out of it! B)

Quick question, so what if it's a video game?

"It's a game" argument hold no merit because the same logic can be applied to almost anything in life.

It's just a car, who cares!

It's just a house, who cares!

Get the idea?

For some people Mass Effect is more than a game. I can say that for myself because everything I ever own has something referencing Mass Effect. My phone, my clothes, my computer, my car, etc. Hell, I am learning to read and write the Quarian font just like I learned the Unitology font from Dead Space. My class notes are in Quarian font. I grew up with Mass Effect and till I die, I will never forget it. For me, and a few others, Mass Effect is more than "just a game."

Hell I miss Tali too. She was such a great character. It is depressing to see her go but I will get over it. So will everyone else. Telling people they have problems and shooting them down does not help. I understand what you're getting at but it does not belong here.

Just had to get that out there.

Keelah Se'lai.

EDIT: Also, I mean no hard feelings to you luc. Just wanted to get this out as it has been driving me nuts.

The existence of this thread shows how well Bioware created a bond between gamers and characters. I also feel a void with the characters. Liara was also my favorite character.

Well, then you should honestly just stop posting in here. This thread is for people like the OP who have been emotionally distressed by losing (so to speak) their Mass Effect love interest to support and comfort each other. It's not for people like you who seem to only want to flippantly dismiss our feelings.

First off DLC, I am sure more adventures await with your LI.

Second bit. First world problem. http://library.think...rg/05aug/01259/ I wish these kids had the luxury of worrying about a make believe girl/boy in a video game instead of finding something to eat.

Maybe the emergency induction port was a trap. Like the Citadel.
