i dont think bioware really understadn WHY we play their games. sure they make great stories(or one story they use over and over again) but the reason we like their universe is becasue of whats in it. and whats in ME is garrus, liara, ash, anderson, starchild........

yeah we love the character just as much as we love the rest of the game.

i wish i had more facetime with my LI in ME3. i wasnt expecting my romance to come to fruition at the end of ME3 considering i was with ash since ME1. i wanted to start banging ash immediately. not at the same point new players trying to romance ash would get.

I know what you mean, I also romanced ashley in me1 so I expected that to have a large effect on the romance. Also it annoyed me that in ME3 once ashley joins the squad we only get 4 conversations with her, one of which is when she is drunk, and one of which is the sex scene. I think most (if not all) of the romances were to short in ME3, I expected frequent conversations with ashley, and for that matter all of the characters in your squad. They halved the squad members and significantly reduced the Dialogue.

Yeah, and I'm pretty sure I read an interview somewhere where they said they'd reduced the squad number in order to let you have a more in depth relationship with them via conversations and the like.  I might be mis-quoting there, I can't remember exactly what was said, but it was along those lines.  As we see though, there's no real change to how much you can interact with them - at least not with the conversation wheel - there's arguably more, what I call, "set piece" conversations, where you click on them and a pre-determined interaction scene plays out - but that's not real interaction imho.

Nope your correct, that was the reason for reducing squad memebers, and like alot of aspects they failed to deliever on it, unless they solely relied on Shepard's and Talis flirting on the Geth ship. Which I loved, won't fault them there, just wish there was more of it and for other members.

The fact this thread exists is a testimate to the ability of Bioware to make and mol!d characters that can be remembered beyond playing the game.

The emotions evoked throughout the struggles of each game brought us that much closer to understanding each one... bravo Bioware!
