Not gonna lie, really miss Liara. Every critical junction in the game, she was there to help. God, I know she isn't real, but when I was going through hell, she was there for you. This is one of the reasons the ending blows for me. I went through hell for that women, and she went through hell for me. I swear man, the perfect ending with your love interest would have been Shepard proposing, or FemShep being proposed to. God, that would have been gold.

I just miss all the characters, especially Shepard. He/she died as soon as they met the kid and didn't react to anything the little bastard said. Ash was my girl and it pissed me off to see her get out of the Normandy looking so unmoved at the end. WTF?

You could beat the game and then "continue Shepard's legacy". Then head to Cerberus HQ and start the romance scene with your LI. Then proceed to turn off the game afterwards...

People on TV play characters that are not real.  It doesn't mean that people don't empathize with them.

In the OPs case, he's feeling empathy for Liara.  It's actually a good thing since it means you're human enough to have emotion.

The whole point of a voice actor or an actor in general is to make you believe that everything they're saying, even though it's just in character, is real and legitimate.  This is proof that the LI voice actors have done this.

ME was used for people to escape reality, and so now when the ending is similar to the crappier part of reality...people get depressed.

People don't want to feel like this unless there's some form of sweet at the end of it:




Needless to say, nothing about the end of this game, except for Stargazer which isn't even a part of the main ending and is a secret stinger scene, is sweet.

My "favorite" ME3 demotivational. It sums up my thoughts about the game perfectly.

Im going ot miss all my compansions in Mass Effect, yes even Jacob
It's just so sad that they had to end it all with such a fiasco. They all deserved so much better then this 

No matter how BioWare chooses to continue with the Mass Effect universe after this, another game just won't be the same without the characters i've come to love over the years.

And if they even dare to think about releasing a Mass Effect MMORPG i'll go in to Krogan blood rage! Keep that filth away from Mass Effect!

Man, we're all such hopeless romantics. Sometimes I think that's what certain people are unable to empathize with, rather than how we're so attached to fictional characters.

But yeah, I miss both (fem)Shepard and Ashley so much. I hope people never stop writing fanfiction about characters in Mass Effect. As long as I can read something new (albeit fan-made) every once in a while, Mass Effect will always be a huge part of my life that I'll never want to forget or let go of. That's all that is keeping me from actually sinking into a depression for a long time.
