I feel for you guys who are just getting the Witcher 2 now.

It's freaking awesome.

I already have the PC version, but my PC is crap and can't even play the damn game on Medium. I had to play it on Low but I refused to play this marvelous game on Low. So I just waited for the Enhanced Edition for the Xbox360. I might play the PC version again once I have a better PC.

Getting depressed over pixels is depressing.

Just read my post one page ago. I feel the same way as the OP, and I still have a girlfriend and a very happy relationship that already holds for two and a half years now. One thing doesn't exclude the other, people who feel like this are just sensitive, there's nothing wrong with them.

Being emotionally moved through art is natural.  This is one of the best examples of someone not getting it, then understanding why people can get drawn in...

So much speculation about if people have lifes partners etc, who cares? they feel one way, you feel another. Dont agree with how they feel? then move on from here, you cant dictate how it feels to be human.

Now back to Speculation, I hate Joker >.>

Witcher 2 maxed is fantastic. The best looking game I've played, even more so than maxed Crysis 2 or Metro 2033.

Sure, I just wanted to prove that point wrong, as he obviously assumed everyone who feels like the OP does cannot possibly have a girlfriend or boyfriend.

I play Necron on tabletop.

I play Ork in Dawn of War 2.

I play a Black Templar Assault Marine in the pens 'n paper rpg Deathwatch.

And yes, The Witchter 3, tomorrow. I'm actually one of the lucky few who got his hands on the Dark Edition for the Xbox360. It's an extremely limited collector's edition. Super awesome. I'm psyched!

I've been watching this for the past few days... so cool!

But thats enough threadjacking I think... I still think people are allowed to have feelings about a game. Not much else we can have feelings about anymore without being called "sad" or being linked to homosexuality in a homphobic way for some reason.

Chaos for life! :D

And yeah, I got an edition from Amazon, that is signed by the developer team. Which is quite cool.

yes as do others here but everyone deals with greaf in deiffernt ways, sometimes the only way people can cope with pain is by talking about it with others that feel the same or have done in the past.

Grief? Pain? What is this, a friggin' funeral?

If people are seriously grieving in pain over a friggin' video-game, then I wonder how they'd deal with the funeral of a real-life friend or loved-one. How are they going to handle that? With suicide?

Come on man, I understand that some people are sad about how ME3 was handled, I was sad too, but to be talking about "grief" and "pain", isn't that a tiny little bit exaggerated?

are you really so braindead &  heartless that I have to spell it out for you, some people deal with there real life pain by turning on there favorite games & loosing themselfs in the world  story. It helps them deal with & come to terms with there grief, but when your favorite games couse you to feel just as sh** as your already feeling then it ends up defeating the object of the escape.

I'll give you an example, when I was 15 I was raped by my best friend who I'd grown up with since we were babies. His mother & my mother were really good friends, they used to bath us together, we'd grown up beside eachother. I used to go up his house every weekend to keep him company while his parents were out down the pub, we'd play videogames. Then one day his parents phoned up to say they weren't going to be home till the early hours of the morning. After he put the phone down on they he called to me & asked me to "come here I want to show you something" I asumed it was a computer game or something because he always kept him console & games in him mum & dad's room because his was so small. When I went in the room he jumped out from behind the door & threw me across the room, all I could focus on was the look in his eyes. He had me pinned down, I was so scared I froze for a time but I was lucky that I managed to snap myself out of it  fight back. I managed to get away but after that I was too ashamed & scared to leave my house for a time as he lived 3 doors up from me. I've never had a close relashonship with my family & never had any support in that time of my life, i was a scared 15 year old girl with noone to turn to so I turned to my games. I chose to loose myself in my Final fantasy VIII game in the hopes that it would help my get his eyes out of my head even if it was only for a short time. with all the bad things going on in my life at that time if it wasn't for my games I would have commited suicide but I did'nt because my games gave me hope that there was still some good in the world.

I know. I gave my PC version of The Witcher 2 to my brother. He's playing it on his monster gaming PC. His machine can play it on 'Ultra'. It looks absolutely amazing. But have you seen the new revamped lighting-set and shaders that CDPR implemented in the Xbox360 version? That looks damn amazing! How they manage to get such gorgeous graphics out of a 7 years old machine is beyond me!

Compare this and be amazed:

How about you people go and find a different place to discuss "The Witcher", that's quite off-topic for quite a while now.

@Divine Avenger: If this is true, then it is horrible, but still good that you were able to move on from this. And of course it is a good example, even though it doesn't even have to be such an extreme one for people to let themselves fall in a game like that.

Escapism is not a healthy way of dealing with serious real-life problems. Escapism is only running away from the problem, not dealing with it.

Sorry that I appear to cold and heartless. I'm really not a heartless person. I've just seen to much BS in real-life and nobody does anythng about it. So I've learned to deal with things myself.

But really, escapism is one thing, but whining about it on the internet is something else. Crying about how you feel so depressed after ME3 isn't gonna help you in any way. How about some less self-pity and emo-talk and more trying to actually do something about it? Feeling sorry for yourself isn't going to help you, it's only going to make it worse.

Should you really be sharing all this on an online forum?

But really, I see a pattern here and it's not a healthy one:

Your real-life sucks, so you escape in your games.

Now your games turn out to suck, so you escape to the forums of said games.

What's next? Where are you going to escape next when this forum turns out to suck?

The more important question is: When are you going to stop running away and actually going to face your problems?

I don't care it happend 15 years ago I've delt with it, it's a part of who I am & I wouldn't be me without it, so if trolls want to troll they can carry on it will show just how pathetic & shallow they are. On the other hand thogh someone reading it who has suffered similer things will know they are not sad & pathetic people there just people & it might help them too. If someone back then had turned round & admited something like that to me I'd have felt much needed relif at the fact I wasn't as alone as I thought.

@Luc0s: You miss the point. What you call "whining about it on the internet" actually could help people. See, the OP started this thread to share his feelings with us and maybe get some support, just to get cheered up a litte. But happens? People are making fun of him, assuming he has dramatic real life problems, he's weird, something is wrong with him. But no, I don't think is the case. People just think there's something wrong with a person, when that person is different from themselves or the majority of people.
