Well, it's the shield that drops from Sophia during Warden's Keep... it's identical to Duncan's shield, with a different name.



I've been hunting it for 100 reloads already and still not dropping.

I can tell you, I am not pleased lol. I've reloaded the game since this afternoon at 2:45.. it's almost 7pm now, and I've reloaded at least 100 times.

I found that you can't get it if you ask for the gold, if you do not ask for the gold it should drop fairly quickly. The shield IS real. A quick tip, set your game to easy, talk to the commander and as your leaving chat, tap your quick save button, should save before the battle begins. That way if it doesn't drop, you can go through a quick reload with f9 and you wont have to go through the chat again, except for the one after the battle.

it probably isnt supposed to be dropped at all. its just a renamed duncan's shield

or u can just give the gift of duncan's shield to alistair then take it from him when he equips it..... unless your character is built around using a shield and u need two of them and want that specific one... I got it without trying each time... with and without the gold, I thought it was an automatic drop.. but then again I usually never build up my characters around shields.. and lately I've mostly just been making mage characters so alistair and wynne are my only two shield users (i make wynne an arcane warrior even though I don't use her much, it really works out good though for when I do... I don't have to draw all the aggro away from her when she's a spirit healer (by default) and arcane warrior lol... that is a lot of time to spend trying to get the shield though.. do u honestly need two (duncans and that one?) otherwise just give duncans to alistair, he'll equip it and use it

Are there any good TARGE or Kite shields? I prefer those..look better. I just want this shield for collection purposes.

be funny if it was determined by entering the zone and not a 'random drop' asside from that its really not important, you are just suing obsession to whine.

I don't understand the angst towards BioWare ... it's an optional item obviously with a random drop-rate and you're getting the uncomfortable end of random number generation. It's not like you need this one specific shield to unlock further progress in the game. If you soak endless hours in to acquisition of this item, thank your obsessive nature.

I got the shield on my first playthrough.. thought it was a static drop..



But never gotten it on subsequent playthroughs.. not that I use a shield or anything.

This shield is available immediately after Ostigar. Duncan's shield isn't available until the game is almost over.



It should not be a random drop. I spent two hours myself before I finally got it and I used the killallhostiles code after my first ten legit attempts.

It dropped for me on my 4th play through last night. The only thing I did differently from previous 3 play was I killed Sophia right away without making any deals. Then I went up to the tower and helped the old mage sealed the veil.
