Can someone confirm this prt? It interests me since I had Arrival and was wondering what happens if you DON'T play it. Is it really said in the Codex someone else blew up Alpha Relay for you? So what exactly are you grounded for at the beginning of ME3 if you didn't destroy Alpha Relay yourself?Nuchy wrote...
No for the people who didnt buy arrival. If you dont buy Arrival it says in the codex a special ops team was sent in to do it.

A Batarian civil war would be far more interesting to me than the Hegemony trying to demand my execution. And it would be content that could be worked into post-ending DLC in a meaningful way. Balak (if you let him live), or the generic angry Batarian, leads the remnants of his forces back to Batarian space to claim control over his people. A lot of them would prefer to retain their new-found freedom following the downfall of Khar'shan. Conflict ensues, Shepard tries to defuse the conflict in order to help the galaxy rebuild. And maybe I can finally put a bullet in that bastard Balak's head.
Considering I had my Spectre status reinstated, I'm not sure the Alliance, as a full member of the council, actually has the authority to actually even hold me. But that's a topic for another conversation.

You'll also lose some Alliance war assets as one of the companies blew themselves up along with the relay if you don't import a Shepard who played Arrival.
I think you're grounded for working with Cerberus. Arrival is just incidental, even if you played it.

I doubt it was specifically cut. I can believe it was on the list of things that were being planned when they were working on ME2 that later got abandoned in the name of incoherence........ sorry, 'art'..
Yes. And we don't want to muddle art, now do we?

Let me just say the following: Even if the OP read it somewhere and even if what he read was true, it would have been cut in a very early concept stage which happens all the time in game development.
As for this particular scenario, I am quite glad it was cut because the story of the Batarians makes more sense, given that the reapers definitely entered the galaxy through their space.
Besides, I thought the ANN news article right before release was pretty badass. Remember? When a whole fleet of rag tag batarian ships comes through the Arcturus relay and the alliance first thinks it is an attack only to realize it's only refugees. When the batarian admiral was quoted saying "We need the Alliance." I though "ooooh sh*t."
IMO, it's ok as it is.

But if you don't play it, then Shep never went there right? Like with LOTSB, if you dodn't play it Liara just went to Broker's Ship herself right?devSin wrote...

This should be correct. The Alliance sent forces to rescue the doctor, and they got themselves blown up, along with the relay (leading to the asset penalty). Shepard was never involved if you didn't play Arrival.IsaacShep wrote...

What relay? The one from Arrival DLC? You have to blow that up. So how am I to trust the rest of this if the facts aren't presented correctly in the first place?
not if you don't play the DLC, can't blow it up if you haven't played it

Thanks. Was curious since I thought Arrival was going to be made 100% canon, that even if you didn't play it the game would say that your Shepard did blew up Alpha Relay. Nice to know it's actually not canon for your Shep and they did the same thing they did with LOTSB. Even though the intro is obviously suited for Arriva-playing-Shep of course lol, since it's kinda silly how Alliance only now cares that you worked with Cerberus. ALthough I do remember some dossiers talking how everyone in the Alliance except for Hackett and Anderson wants to prosecute Shep for Cerberus thingdevSin wrote...

Your point? Oh right, you didn't have one. Seriously, there are about 6 other "he's trolling" posts before mine. Why nitpick and whine about the one I posted? That's a rhetorical question, by the way. Definition provided in case of further derpery.
