That wouldn't make any sense. It's not mentioned anywhere in the game if the Batarians had any power left after the "Arrival" incident. Their entire race was decimated. They were reduced to a small fleet.

Since when did Batarians reside in one system?, the relay destroyed a single system that contained 300'000 Batarians, that cannot even be considered the entire race, earth has a population of 11.4 billion, 300'000 Batarians is a colony.

Definitely thought the batarians were going to be bigger players in the war, than just a bunch of ships and side mission on the citadel.

2. Why cant people read? The batarians werent suppose to be annihilated! The reapers were gonna come from a different part of the galaxy and because they were preparing for the war with the humans so much it helped them repel the reapers.

False; the Alpha Relay was in Batarian Space. The Reaper's were heading to hte Alpha Relay. Hence, they're heading to that part of the galaxy first.

What, did they see the alpha relay go boom and say "Oh well, we'll just head around the galaxy and find somewhere else to enter for no reason.

So, [citation needed] on them not supposed to be annihilated, because Arrival made it clear the Reaper's were coming into Batarian space first.

will the ARC be a DLC ?

I hope so

I have a stack of GI around here somewhere, any clue of what game was on the cover and/or what section of the magazine? Was it a long article, was it a little box, was it something else all together. First place I went was the one with the ME3 cover, but it definitely wasn't that one.

Though that one DOES mention something like, "Shepard will still occassionally be fighting a merc group here and there." Which was obviously not true.

edit: spelling

Bits and pieces here and there from every GI magazine that talked about Mass Effect 3, I connected the dots and pieced it all together

Some of the things that I firgured, was that the Reapers came in throguh batarian space, but that is only one system, the batarians have many systems, and they wanted to hit Earth first before anyone could warn them.

*shakes head* Okay, you're wrong.

It's not stated anywhere, you're just taking interviews and preview's at different points in it's development cycle and trying to make them fit together when they were never meant to. There is no "Connecting the dots". You're saying Bioware cut a "major" portion of the game, prove it. Because even the 2011 E3 video showed that the game's start was still the same.

Why would Arrival have decimated the batarian race? They only lost one out of the way system and roughly 300,000 people. Although humans were more powerful than the batarians, it's implied that they definitely weren't pushovers by any stretch of the imagination. I don't know if the batarian population is ever stated in game, but I'd expect it to be in the billions, just like it is for humans. AFAIK their fleet wasn't concentrated around Aratoht. I can't imagine that losing that system would be a severe blow to the batarians whatsoever.

Hackett said the Batarians were gone when the Reapers arrived. They were the first race to be attacked. Anytime Hackett is available in Midcomm, ask him about the Batarians.

Yep.

People here should know that magazines, interviews and things like that can't be trusted.

"If Shepard didnt blow up the relay then a special ops Alliance squad would anyways, and they would still declare war."

What relay? The one from Arrival DLC? You have to blow that up. So how am I to trust the rest of this if the facts aren't presented correctly in the first place?

The reference to the special Ops is if you have an ME3 save that doesn't incorperate the Arrival DLC, such as mine. The relay will always be destroyed, but only by your hands if you have the DLC.

You almost say that with a sense of pride.
If only you were more active with the false posts when Casey was running his mouth around, I might of had respect for you.

This would have been cool. But I doubt it ever left the drawing board. It wasn't likely cut by EA.

More likely BW decided they liked the tragic nature of the Batarians being wiped out, and YOU'RE next Humanity, unless you stop the Reapers.

No for the people who didnt buy arrival. If you dont buy Arrival it says in the codex a special ops team was sent in to do it.

Can someone confirm this prt? It interests me since I had Arrival and was wondering what happens if you DON'T play it. Is it really said in the Codex someone else blew up Alpha Relay for you? So what exactly are you grounded for at the beginning of ME3 if you didn't destroy Alpha Relay yourself?

Not just the codex, it's referred to a couple of times in-game. The introduction also plays slightly differently when you haven't played it when Anderson tells you that "after the **** you pulled" anyone else would have been court martialled.

In this case you were grounded for palling around with terrorists.

No one even likes the Batarians, they've never been a squadmate so we have no emotional attachment to them, when I heard they got wiped out I was like "Mehh all well, looks like the reapers did humanity a favor"
