I've been trying to start my second playthrough and I'll admit I just can't get there :( I'm starting at ME1 and I can't even bring myself to play it.

^This.  I played through once just to see how it ended with the intention of restarting ME1 for a marathon perfect trilogy of games with my manShep and femShep and ... <sigh>

The rage is gone, depression is fading, but I cannot shake the thoughts of what could have been.  A game that made me fall in love with a virtual blue alien, want to drink a beer with another virtual alien, and really mourn the deaths of two more virtual aliens and a robot was something I never expected to experience.

Having to watch as it was abandoned to "artistic vision" (read "corporate greed") is beyond sad.  Bioware sold out to EA who took an amazing RPG and turned it into a mediocre horde mode co-op FPS.  GG guys, I'm not coming back for more.

Agree it sucks. But we don't really know the reason for why the ending sucked as hard as it did, and why was completely disconnected from the series - perhaps it was EA.  Or something else.  I guess where I'm at now is it just doesn't matter.  I don't see the DLC changing much, and I'm no longer interested in investing emotional energy to find out. Bottom line, it was one of the most awesome awesome series created with the worst ever ending in gaming history. I'm sure they didn't intend that to be the final word - they really didn't. But such is life.

Yea. Games' been out for more than a month. By now, most of the damage has been done. Unless BW really pull finger and fix it, I'll not be autmaticall pre-ordering anything Bioware puts out anymore.  I am not pre-ordering DA3 due to my DA2 experiance, and I wont be preodering any Mass effect titles either.

Guess, I'll just wait 2 weeks and pick them up 1/2 price if the reviews are positive.

Sad but true - posting is a sign you're still pissed, not that you truly enjoyed the experience.  I think other than this thread I'm close to done for a while.

This was a disaster for everyone, for casual players who got bad feel overall, for journalists losing their readers, for EA losing their money and of course it was a catastrophe for both Bioware and hardcore fans. I think that Chris has really suffered the nervous breakdown and I feel sorry for him. But you know what? Bioware can still redeem themselves! All they need to do is to come to us and talk. They must show that they care. It would be the first step, admitting mistake and discussing how to solve the situation. It's not much, but it is it for the start.

Yes...I am geting over "it" too, as am I the whole mass effect franchise entirely. Havent done another single playthrough since. BW gave an answer, nor do I longer care as a Fan AND Customer.

Yet, you are still here. Don't get me wrong, I hope you stick around, but you must still hope for something?

ME was a good series, ME3 fell flat, and now BioWare has lost my trust as a consumer.

Me too. I actually started my second favorite play through of an ME1/ME2 character, but just sort of lost my desire to play.  As much as I enjoyed the actual game play, I knew where it was leading, and really, for whatever reason just haven't wanted to go back.  I even played the MP for no particular reason instead of going back to my second play through.

Nearing that point with ME2 too.  I cringed when I reached the Rachni Asari on Illium.  The Rachni Queen promised that she would join me against the Reapers and that their crescendo would wipe the Reapers from the Galaxy.

...

Not so much, eh?

Since really what she did was get captured by the Reapers and then... she may have sent a few Rachni over to help on the Crucible.

Didn't even join in in the final fight.

Also everytime someone mentions Dark Energy.  Thanks for the Dark Energy readings on the Collectors, Veetor. Liara?  There's been a surprising rise in interest on the extranet in Dark Energy?  Haestrom's sun is burning out because of Dark Energy?

Yeah, all of that is meaningless.

At a certain point, I realize we are talking to a wall. I'm moving on. Playing Star Trek Online and actually finding it entertaining. Still have not finished Fallout: New Vegas or started LA Noire or any of the Crysis games. Feeling less optimistic about Deus Ex: Human revolution because of the "boss battle" thing.

Sure BioWare is "listening". They have to listen to make sure no one violates the froum's terms of use. Are they "hearing"? I suppose the "Extended Cut" will answer that question.

LA Noire got me away from ME3 for the last month, since doing the playthrough I have not touched the case or looked at it.

LA Noire for my PS3 is a great game, I suggest you delve into it. Just don't play it in long-stretches or it gets repetitive. Do 2-3 cases a day and take a break. But as you do those cases, REALLY delve into it, think of it, review your evidence often it really pays off.

Great game if you pace yourself. I just about finished it. Started on March 10, finished it a few days ago. Got my mind of ME3 aside from coming to these forums.

Don't let yourself miss out on Human Revolution - I've played it, and the ending is nowhere near the trainwreck you
saw in ME3. Deus Ex: HR is overall a great game, just oozing with great atmosphere and story. Just my opinion, but I don't think it's worth missing it ;)

Exactly.  Whether Bioware is simply the quiet spouse who listens, feels bad, but won't acknowledge us, or whether they've already made up their mind and are doing whatever they planned on doing, the result is the same - there is no dialogue, nor will there be.  You have the ending you have - you will probably get that ending "clarified", but really, you have your ending, and regardless, Bioware isn't interested in talking to us.

Perhaps the galaxy wasn't completely destroyed due to some bizarre explanation.  Perhaps Sheperd can rejoin the remainder of his crew, minus EDI.  Perhaps...perhaps I'm just not going to worry about it any more.  The game is pretty much over for me now.

Good luck with that!  Seriously, they've made it crystal clear - they aren't interested in discussing things right now.  They are probably heads down working on a DLC, and really aren't interested in talking about it.

And really, at the point they are interested, we can probably assume they've already decided what will happen in the DLC, and are only talking because the PR machine wants/needs something to do.  Expect a coordinated, "We care, we listened to you, we're still listening to you" campaign leading up to the launch.  If gamer believes what they say just prior to release, they really will deserve what's coming to them.

For me it will never pass, when you loose a loved one the pain you feel never go's away, you just learn to live with it. For me it will be this way, the pain of it all will always be there I'll just learn to live with it as time go's on.

So you're comparing losing a loved one to a video game?

That is so beyond ridiculous that I have no proper word for it. It's a game, a piece of software. It does not even compare to a human life. And for you to say it does, that you will mourn it like you do someone real...

You need to step back and re-evaluate what's important, I'm sorry. But this is not good, at all.

I was giving you an example, if you wish to take it out of context then that's your choice, but it's still the case of Bioware betrayed everything they wrote in the lore of ME in the last 10 - 15m of the game. This betrayal is one that will never be forgoten, they can patch it or attempt to fix it as much as they like but you can't just reach into someones mind & say you don't like this memory so we'll remove it. It doesn't work like that, nobody will be able to forget that they did this to begin with, so even if they fix it the memory will be there & I can't speak for everyone but I personally will be unable to trust a company that has lied to me.

I'll learn to live with the fact that the Bioware I knew & love no long exists but it won't stop me from feeling upset at the fact that the RPG world has lost one the greatest RPG makers in history.

What's sad (and possibly what was intended), the more I play it over, the less I find that I care for the story anymore. Not playing the ending hasn't helped because, each time, I still know how it all ends regardless what Shepard does.

Once the fight's been kicked out of me, ME trilogy will go onto the shelf to be forgotten. I'm certain of that. gg ea

Agreed that when the fight leaves, so does the interest.

And again, the more I think about it, the more I think its silly to think that any of this was intended.  Perhaps the bizarre ending was intended to make us question things so much that there would be a groundswell for a paid DLC.  I can put that one past EA.  But if I'm betting on why things ended as they did I'm betting on dollar and time constraints combined with just one or two people creating this in an environment with a total lack of reviews.  In other words, I really doubt anything like this was planned.  The trainwreck that is the ending and their most loyal fans' response to it just happened - I'm almost sure it wasn't planned.

Yeah, I'm not really sad anymore, just apathetic. I can run through the ending without being pissed off, but I'll still be waiting for the ending DLC, but I'm not going to rely on it.

I've been playing The Witcher to get rid of the sour taste. So far, so good. For once in my academic life I'm glad I've got plenty of stuff to keep me busy.
