ME3 doesn't deserve it with respect to the ending and the quality of it's prequels. BW doesn't deserve a GOTY for being so arrogant and condescending about the whole affair.
As a standalone? Maybe.
Do you guys want mass effect 3 to be the game of the year ?

I'm not sure.
The whole gaming industry is going down the money drain for some years now. You haven't got the feeling of embarking on a real adventure but having bought a cheap ride on the streamlining express. Might be that they deserve it after all, but not because they or their product are so good, but because the competitors have managed to produce something even weaker.

The auto dialogue killed it for me, so, no. It might be trivial to some people but it was the reason I replayed Mass Effect 1 & 2 countless times.

No chance. The gameplay/story (up until the last 10 minutes) was great.
But no game deserves GOTY for being rushed, buggy and filled with negative controversy.
Thing is we (the fan) don't get a say if the game is awarded GOTY!

No. Ghost Recon:Future Soldier is my personal GOTY. Supreme tactical 3rd person shooter, with gun smith=win in my books.
me too
I am looking forward to Halo 4, but I prefer 3rd person tactical shooters, and I LOVE the idea of making "real" virtual firearms.

No. The way Bioware handled the ending fiasco, and subsequently treated their fans, means no GOTY as far as I'm concerned.
Who knew being condescending to people made them angry?

If Mass Effect 3 becomes game of the year it truly shows just how corrupt this industry has become.

I don't really care what a bunch of writers/judges think about the game, so I'm indifferent to it winning game of the year. What matters is that I enjoyed it

Real ending we will see in Summer. Without ending it is for sure one of the main games in this year and candidate for GotY award.
Witcher 2 and Skyrim was the best RPG in the last year.
At the moment for me: YES, but lets wait for Diablo 3, GW2 or Max Payne 3 and then we will see.

I'll be quite sad if it's not GOTY, it's a great game. You guys are trolling about the ending a thousand times a day, whereas the overall game was just plain incredibly epic.

No.
Even if they fixed the endings, it wouldn't change it.

Even if the endings weren't terrible, I wouldn't vote Mass Effect 3 Game of the Year. Too many terrible design flaws that jolt the player out of the game and create impassable rifts between the player and Shepard.

Nope. It doesn't deserve it because simply:
Mass Effect 3 was the BIGGEST troll game of this year.

I think 'Game of the Year' awards are a bit like TIME's 'Person of the Year'. It doesn't necessarily reflect the quality of the game; but the level of cultural impact it had for better or worse. For that reason I think it's probably in the bag.

If it means they'll release a GOTY edition with the DLCs on the disc? Yes.
If not, then it doesn't really matter to me. Sometimes the chosen game of the year is something that I would never even consider playing because it's just not my taste. And aren't there several different groups that choose their own game of the year? It's just that reviewer's opinion. I saw at least one reviewer call DA2 their biggest disappointment, but it was my favorite game that came out last year. It is nice to see the games I like succeed though.
As for ME3, I have mixed feelings about it. I'm really enjoying the game, but it has a lot of problems, and I'm not just talking about the ending. Yesterday, I played a mission where the dialogue audio didn't work for half of it, and most of those lines wouldn't even show up on subtitles. In spite of all that, it might still end up being my favorite. Amalur is great, but so far, I'm having more fun playing ME3. I just bought Witcher 2's enhanced edition, so I can't comment on it yet.

There is no single Game of the Year. Every single gaming website out there will be holding their own Game of the Year with different results and one of them is bound to pick Mass Effect 3. Everybody will have their own individual preferences to where they get information on what is GOTY but more likely they'll decide what they thought was the best game of the year themselves.
