No, Mass Effect 3 does not deserve the GOTY award.
Most disappointing game of the year: quite possible.

No. Poor ending, auto dialog and buggy cutscenes with disappearing people/objects does not make a GOTY.

It deserves a mention for "blown endings" of all time award....
And add to that, dropping the ball on a proper Tali reveal. Seriously anyone with half a brain could have seen what an opportunity this was to use. The artistic, emotional, nearly spiritual scenes you could have milked out of that with just a little of the right direction. Such a shame.
If BioWare had asked the right, pretty basic questions... they had game of the year wrapped up, even with the Tali blunder. This series came so far over so much time. I really was pulling for them. They did some great stuff with ME3, but you don't do an ending like that and get a pat on the back.

You forgot to mention the bugged and poorly implemented character import feature. Thats still not right. Yes, yes, Bioware patched it so you no longer get an error message, but there are still missing assets making it nearly impossible for some of us to import OUR Shepards correctly (especially evident with FemShep saves).
So, no. In my opinion, taking all the issues into account, Mass Effect 3 is not GotY material.

No ME3 is a good game but beside the ending there are tons of other plot holes and tech problem which makes the game not worthy the title game of the year. At best I will give the game 7/10, compared to the previous ME games which I gladly give 10/10, it doesn't engage me the same way. The characters are not that well written, like Ashley/Kaiden their dialogue are so stupid and out of the characters from ME1 which makes me so disappointed. Ash was my love interest in ME1 and I wanted to ask her some question about why she betrayed me instead it's I (Shepard) who needs to explain myself.
Where is the trail? I honestly thought that there was I trial in the first chapter.
Where are the worlds for exploration? All we get is the Citadel and the Normandy, and some random galactic places for like 10-15 minutes mission based. We didn't even got the chance to visit Palaven.
Where are my squad mates? I thought we were caring the saved crew into the new game. i don't care about the engineers or dr Chakwas. I care about Jack, Miranda, Jacob, Zaeed, Samara, Kasumi and Thane. They played big roles in ME2 and I have grown to really like these guys, instead we get some god damn cameos which is so annoying especially if you have Jacob as love interest. Weren't they suppose to be permanent crew member? At least that was what I thought.
The dialogues which is fix in the new patch, I don't know haven't play sp for while now.
MP is really good maybe they can get MP of the year?
Don't mention the ending it's too time consuming and people have almost talk the subject to death.

Unfortunately no.
Even forgetting about the ending, and all pre-release statements related to it, the game is good but non that good.
It have moments of exellency, and there are several good moments in it, but ovearall it have a rushed feeling, overlooked details, irritating design choises (like too much autodialogue, oversimplified crew talk, eavesdropping and scanning fetch quests), and even if they tried to make a good compromise between ME1 and ME2, it doesn't reach the overall quality that it deserved for the series finale, probably because it was rushed.

Mass Effect 3 will win the game of the year award when:
1. Pigs fly
2. Hell freezes over
3. Sheldon becomes an idiot

It'll be a pretty bad year for gaming if ME3 comes even close to GOTY

Oh, ME3 will probably win GoTY from some magazine, but it won't be mine. Too many issues with it, which all could've been easily resolved. But they won't bother, they have their 75 perfect scores, right?
It's sad, because I really love the series, the universe and the characters.

For those that say ME3 do not deserve the GOTY, can anyone name me a 2012 released game that deserve it more, & the reasons over ME3.

No. I want a game that I consider to be the best game of that year to win.
Mass Effect 3 while enjoyable, is pretty much out of the running unless Max Payne and Bioshock 3 suck.
Then, maybe.

If I'm being 100% honest here I can't. But thats not because I haven't played anything better its because I haven't played anything else lol.
I don't even consider my personal GOTY until the end of the year. We still have 6 months. There is so many games with so much potential but that is meaningless. ME3 had tons of potential but it fell flat. And I'm not even talking about the ending. Sure the ending was the worst but I'd be lying if 5 or 10 minutes was the only terrible part.
If ME3 does earn my personal GOTY it wont be because its a good game... Its because everything this year is terrible.
I highly doubt that though.

No.
Poor story, poor ending, auto dialogue, linear plot, choices don't matter and small animation issues.
So far, Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition is currently the game of the year for me but that might change because of Aliens: Colonial Marines, Last of Us, Far Cry 3, Hitman: Absolution, Dead Space 3 and others soon to be announced.

No, this rushed catastrophic ending to an epic saga doesn't deserve any GOTY award besides soundtrack. EA should've cared more about quality and less gimmicks and Bioware should have planned more.
I hope it goes to Assassin's Creed 3.

As much as I love it, so far I don't see it being game of the year. There's too many problems for me (crap squadmates, awful journal, non-satisfying ending). I haven't played Ghost Recon or any of the new games that I don't even know came out, but I heard that those are pretty good and all I ever hear about ME3 is complaints.

If they keep the end game as there are right now then, I hope EA keep paying Bioware to make free DLC in the future.
