I noticed that as well. If it's doable to take only one weapon (and a low ammo one at that) for most of the game without running out of ammo much, it cuts down considerably on taking more weapons with you and killing your cooldowns. As it is, unless you really like having multiple weapons, there's not a whole lot of reason to take more than one or two with you. Especially if you can mod some of them to do double duty (pistol with a scope, anyone?).AlanC9 wrote...
There's definitely too damn much ammo in the game.

It would have been nice to have each weapon class mapped to a key, like in ME1. But it is nice in this game that the player can opt to leave behind useless weapon classes (i.e. shotguns).

You need to make choices and make trade-offs, Anything that makes you do so is a good thing. I have spoken and that is enough for ANYONE.

Widow
Particle Rifle / Phaeston
Crusader
Carnifex
Hurrican
-200% all the game no problems. I mainly used my Widow and Assault Rifle and switched to my crusader and other weapons after that, if I have wasted all my ammo.

The weight system is very stupid. For exaple, being a soldier now is pointless to have powers, cuz they take up to 20 seconds to recharge if you run all weapons except SMG like in ME 2 and 1. Whoever thought of the system needs to be dragged out in the streets and shot.
Maybe soldiers should have had less of a penalty for weight but overall the weight system is good and much better than the alternative where the only reason to use weapons other than the ones you like was because you ran out of ammo.
If anything the weight system exacerbated that problem. The thing is additional weapons have very little effect on your capabilities, your cooldowns do have an effect. Basically the weight system sucked because it was an unbalanced mechanic that reinforced the just use your favorite weapon style because there is really no reason to use or even carry another. If you find it fun to have more weapons or even all the weapons that is great go for it, it wont make you much if any more powerful. OTOH short cooldowns does make you more powerful. So why have a power based check on basically a fun based decision?

I know, I am OP for a level 60 Adept.
Works pretty well, the cooldown doesnt mean anything to me, especially when its not multiplayer. Scorpion and Graal pretty much summarize my playstyle with SP Adept.
Any haters gonna hate?

lol, never used a shotgun. if they come close to me i just use the melee attack. a strong assault rifle does just fine.
Shotguns are kinda useless imo.
I've only ever needed an Assault Rifle, I never let my enemies get close enough to have to melee.
When ammo runs out, I quickly switch to a pistol or Sniper Rifle for precision headshots.

Because Bioware couldn't continue to the model of only having different weapon types available to each class, like they did in ME2, and introduce a viable multiplayer option. The ME3 system is MUCH better.Fixers0 wrote...
So, the weight of your weapon affects the
recharge rate of your omni-tool and bio-amp, who came up with that
idiotic idea? why not have weight actually affect physical movment, but i
guess that would be too hard for Bioware.

The game isn't terribly hard, vanguard with a Claymore was just... fun...? Didn't think much other reason was needed.
