 Hey guys,

I was just firing up ME3 earlier today after starting up ME1 and deciding I wanted to finish my current playthrough before starting all over.  To my horror, all of the textures for clothing in the game look terrible.  Beyond awful.  I will post some screenshots, but it is so bad I can't even play the game.

I did try using Texmod earlier to use some ultra high res mods for ME2 Steam version (this was before starting up ME3 and noticing the texture issues there), but my ATI graphics card doesn't play nice with Texmod, so I removed the program and loaded ME2 normally.  The insanely low res textures were there for clothing as well.  I uninstalled the game and am going to try reinstalling it, but Steam is taking some time to download it.

In the meantime, I uninstalled and reinstalled ME3 hoping that would fix the texture issues, but it hasn't.  They look exactly the same.  Did the Texmod stuff I ran on ME2 cause issues in ME3 somehow?  That doesn't seem possible, especially after a reinstall.

The last thing I'm about to try is a graphics card driver update, but everything had been working perfectly prior to this Texmod business, so drivers seem like an unlikely culprit.  If anyone has seen this before or knows how to fix it, PLEASE help me.  I don't want to reformat and reinstall windows, but I will since I simply can't play the game like this, it's unacceptable.

I should probably mention the specs on my machine.

Intel i5-2500k @ 4.5GHz 1.31v | AsRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 | 8GB G.Skill Sniper DDR3-1600 | Sapphire 6950 2GB (flashed to 6970)

I had previously run through the game a few times on 1920x1200 with everything maxed with 16x AA with no frame rate issues anywhere. I shouldn't have a problem running this game maxed out.

I haven't seen too many textures of that resolution.

I have this inside my GamerSettings.ini file:

TEXTUREGROUP_Promotional=(MinLODSize=2048,MaxLODSize=2048,LODBias=-1)

I also have my DetailMode set to 5 under SystemSettings. This is the same setting Mass Effect 2 is set to. I also have my MaxTextureSize set to 4096 also under SystemSettings.

I haven't noticed too many low resolution textures, least from a distance. There is the odd one which rears it's ugly head, and by ugly, I mean it really stands out. Looks all blurry and pixelated. When you are in a conversation with someone they do tend to show more. You also want to make sure your Anisotropic Filtering is set to 16X as well as Trilinear Filtering set to True.

There is one texture on Samara's mission that really stood out. I'll have to take a picture of it.

Here we go:

Oddly enough it looks like it was graphics drivers. I reinstalled them and went back to that same spot with Tali on the Citadel and everything looks fine. I can finally see the decorative swirls on her veil again. Sorry for the false alarm, but I appreciate the quick response!

Hmm, might try some tweaking like that. Was very unhappy with the texture quality but thought the ME3 PC textures were just from a sloppy port. In saying that the texture quality appears way worse than ME2 so makes sense it could be a bug or misconfiguration somewhere. I can see ME3 is using 500 odd megs of VRAM so shouldn't be as bad as what I see onscreen.
