I'm not telling anyone to boycott Bioware. Never once have I said on these forums that YOU shouldn't buy Bioware games. The fact that I feel that way is my opinion and mine alone. HTW may have started as a boycott group, but we have evolved into a group that people with a similar opinion can join. Sorry if I have come across as aggressive. I tend to get that way in these sort of situations.

So tell me, as a member of both groups in your sig. What exactly is the difference? From what I'm aware of

Retake wanted a better ending, fixed plotholes, and choices that mattered.

Hold The Line wants to well... pimp their website and buy billboards and failed

Hold The Wallet wants to boycott EA and Bioware?

The problem with trying to compare these two organizations is that they are organized differently. Retake is essentially a collection of people with similar viewpoints on the ending (We all feel that the endings could have been better and want changes of some sort to be made). I never really viewed the Retake movement as having any leaders. This movement, on the other hand, is much more organized with clear leaders and motivations.

I'll admit that there is little difference between these two movements for ME personally because of my views on how the ending should be handled. But there are many Retake members who feel that the extended cut DLC is all that we need. To them, there would be a difference between these two groups.  Sorry if that doesn't make much sense. It's late where I am and I am close to turning in.

Ok so why should everyone hold their wallet? what do you mean when you say this? do you understand what boycott means?

I never said that everyone should hold the wallet. If you are referring to my banner, then I am using that as a way to say that I ALONE am holding the wallet. To be quite honest, I don't care if you decide to join me or oppose me.

Yes its nice to see youve gone to so much effort to hide your true cause.

Well, i hope bioware dont change a thing so it gives you a reason to never buy a mass effect game again, as you'll be the one missing out.

If only there was a way to ensure you could never play another bioware game, because we all know you will be buying ME4 when it comes out.

Sir, I understand you disagree with the premise of this movement.  I disagree, but likewise I will compliment you on your writing and ability to convey your point.

I am doing my best to show you respect.  Please do likewise.

I've never seen anyone encourage others to avoid BioWare, only stating their reasons for doing so. Everyone has even been nice to the trolls that come on to tell us what they just bought.

That said, I believe the movement needs its own forums for the inevitable lockdowns here. While nothing is being done wrong, these threads are not in the company's best interest and will continue to be locked. I have found phpBB and Simple Machines are good free options to place in your own website that would allow the discussion to continue uninterrupted.

I agree. This was a good starting place, and I think we should continue using it until they threaten to ban us. At the same time, we need a place where we can discuss our movement without the risk of our threads being locked. Perhaps we could use this site AND an additional website at the same time?

Please continue bumping this thread whenever possible. I will be around trying to make peace wherever possible likewise.

I am glad to say that our membership continues to rise due to the controversy.  If there is any silver lining, it would be that.

I will be back in a minute.

If that's how you see my banner then so be it. I think neither one of us is going to shift on our viewpoint on this issue, so I think it is best that we just leave it here. As for ME4, I guess we will just have to wait and see won't we? There's no way of knowing if I will or will not buy it until it comes out.

How about, instead of just posting: Bump, or +1 or whatever... People list a single reason why they hold the wallet?

This will serve as a post to explain that I am leaving for the night so will not be replying and as a free bump. I hold the wallet because I feel that I was lied to prior to the release of the game! Is that what you meant?

Sounds good to me.

I too need to take a break.  I have spent hours dealing with the lock.  It is time for me to go play some nice nerve-wracking Counter Strike as a Medic.

I will try to keep an eye on things.

So if you are the Reformed Hold the Wallet, where are the Orthodox Hold the Walleters? Should we expect a CounterReformation to roll out soon?

I'm the leader of the HTW movement, and I have formed my organization with co-founders and officers that will not do such a thing.

This is the current face of the movement.  We may change over time, pending what happens as we go along and how many other branches we grow.

Direct order to entire movement:  Do not respond or encourage this person further.  He may speak to himself if he so desires.
