Not when, in ME1, it pushes you into a romance with her regardless of whether you turned her down or not and I've heard it is pretty much the same thing in ME3.

It's annoying. Yeah, I get it Bioware, she is your canon romance. You spend lots of time on an "i love you" scene for her, and I get a quickie with Miranda. Stupid.

miranda gave you a quicke ???  on my romance, as shepard walked into the room ashley shut the door and both ladies took advantage of him Posted Image i think it had something to do with the EMS Posted Image

Well, now that I look back at it, the ME 1 Liara was so strange with the romance...

she's an archeologist. she spent her whole life researching prothean artifacts. she had no time or lack of interactions with men. more than likely shepard was her first crush.

sorry but ashley got hot on ME3 but it was so hard to tell liara, "lets stay friends" i mean c'mon, she's got the hots for sheaprd and you know she's a freak between the sheets Posted Image

Told the betch to shove it in ME1, told her to shove it in ME2, and she still tried in ME3. I really wish I had the chance to shoot her, just like I did to the VI because theyre both hella annoying.

I am nobody, but i approve this comment

You know, Liara's little Moment of Cosmic Peace didn't strike me as anything sexual even when I was in a romance with her (in which case you have a snuggly hug moment during the course of the Moment of Cosmic Peace, in case you haven't seen that variation of it). It struck me as something of a nice little escape in the middle of a big, noisy, chaotic battlefield... which is kind of what it's intended as, really. Y'all have gutters for brains, you do.

She already tried it in ME1 without any comment from Shepard. She shouldn't have approached him in ME3 like that if you have already told her that it's not going to happen.
Especially after her character has grown the way it did.

Liara can force herself on me any time.

But I laugh every time I see someone say that Liara "raped" Shepard during that memory-share moment. I don't know how anyone would think Liara putting her head on Shepard's shoulder (non-romanced) is equal to rape, I mean....why aren't they complaining about all the husks trying to jump on you in MP/SP?

It's irritating how much attention/screen time Liara/VS get compared to the ME2 romances. I mean, seriously. Tali and Garrus got 30 second scenes compared to Liara/VS' 2+ minutes. Other ME2 romances didn't even get that. What the hell, Bioware?

Plus, they should have made your LI come up and see you in your quarters more often, not just Liara/James/Allers.

And let's not forget the ending. Romanced anyone other than Liara/VS? LolLiara. u mad bro?

I never really felt comfortable trying to romance Liara since, by asari standards, she's not very old and well, doubtful she'd be um...legal.

However, if people are complaining because she is being very up-front about her emotions and very forward, people need to grow up lol. That just adds to her character; not everyone handles approaching a person they're interested in the same way.

In ME1, you can say "No, I just see you as a friend" and that makes it so it doesn't lead up to a romance.

She is an adult. Do you think she became a prothean expert/archaeologist as a teen? She is a young adult akin to 21 year old or so. Just becasue they live to a thousand doesn't mean they only become an adult at 200 years.

This one is one of my LI suggestions (signature).

You people are so lost in your love for liara. God forbid you're nice to her, she basically attacks you, even though she knew I had a thing for VS. She even says it. I despise that Liara is the canon romance, and I desppise her character and the fact she's the only one given plot armor, for no good reason.

You hate a character that doesso much for you...Also, you can tell her "no" and she just leaves it at that...No constant attacking.

Also, Tali's romance is still better.

Does so much for me? This isn't real life, dude. Bioware told her to find the crucible, blah blah. She doesn't deserve some love or affection. She's not even a cool character, or interesting. She reminds me of a middle schooler.

I'm sorry....Did some one forget why their Shep is still alive in ME2?

So? My Shepard didn't ask for this. And he especially didn't ask for being given to Cerberus, not that they wouldn't have gotten their hold on Shep's remains anyway. Liara just beat them to it, which is kinda creepy in its own way, because my Shep didn't romance her or anything - she was just a forced, plot pushing "Embrace Eternity" squadmate in ME1.
So this whole rescue thing really came out of the blue. The obvious answer as to why her of all people is because she's BW's favorite pet, but everyone knows that. I really wish there was an option to back away slowly, cooly from Liara in ME2, but no, you HAVE to be nice to her like you're bffs forever and hug her.
And in ME3 she the most important squadmate as always - Shadow Broker, Crucible finder, best LI option screentime and quality wise and, oh, plot armored immortal.  And I really did want to do playthroughs with Miranda and Jack as LIs, but seeing what they got on YouTube it's not worth it. Most of ME2 squaddies got shafted, but at least I know where all the resourses went on that front <_< So yeah, for a game which tries to position itself as all "choice and customized personal experience" I'm getting too much forced into seeing Liara's blue mug.

Because you can get all of your ME2 squadmates killed, and I don't any zombies on my team. IMHO except for Mordin, Samara, Tali, and Garrus, the rest of the ME2 squadmates weren't terribly interesting.

That they weren't terribly interesting is according to your preference only. The chosen LI or the companion Shepard had the highest rating with should have been the one to approach Shepard. The ending already uses this method to decide who gets out of the Normandy and in which order, the developers could have easily implemented it in the rest of the game itself.

Liara is fine. she is welcome to join Miranda, Ashley and my manShep so we all can embrace eternity at the same time. Shep dies at the end so might as well lay as much pipe as possible....even if that means using the Gibbed editor. *big grin*

Pretty much.

It is even explained in game that it is how Asari say farewell to each other. If Liara is friend-zoned, there is nothing sexual about it. In fact even with an active romance it isn't even sexual. Romantic perhaps, but not sexual.

I never really felt comfortable trying to romance Liara since, by asari standards, she's not very old and well, doubtful she'd be um...legal.

Her full name and title is Dr. Liara T'Soni. How many children do you know who are university educated, have a doctorate, and work as an archaelogist? Liara is young by Asari standards, but she isn't *that* young. Asari reach adulthood in their forties. Liara is 106 in Mass Effect 1.

I find it really interesting how the opinions regarding Liara have changed since the release of ME1 on these forums. I remember posting on the old forums that I thought Liara was the main romance for the series only to get the usual anti ash rage.

I do wonder about the 'forcing' thing.

Basically, Bioware ninjamancing is a long-standing thing with these games for some weird, weird reason. It's happened to me with Alistair, Leliana, and one time, Kaidan. (Wish I still had that save; I probably won't ever do it again :P.) I've also seen some pretty clear signs of Garrusmancing coming and avoided it. I've usually clearly gone for Liara... and I'll admit it feels difficult to get through the first game without a romance, but I do feel like usually, I can see it coming.

Except for the challenge scene constantly coming with Kaidan. I've avoided it twice.

I do think Liara's as close to a default romance as any, though I totally do not mind. (After spending six months listening to nozy and Dink in the Liara thread going on about how LiLi was going to get 'edited out' due to EA's fear of Fox Noise, I'll accept our borderline Wesley status.)

Tali and Garrus fans should be thankfull to have their favorites in all three games...
Especially considering both of them could also die in the suicide mission.

She didnt. In lair of shadowbroker,if not romanced in the first game, she says that she is interested in the drell, but didnt want to take advantage of him now after he is free.(let some time pass)
