I'm more fascinated, that people actually attempt to have a discussion in this thread.

Yes, a few people have gotten a bit off topic, but the original point is asking why its OK for the blue alien to not wear underwear in the sex scenes, but every human does - even in the shower?

Isn't this game intended for adults?

Didn't you learn anything from the halftime incident... Boobs are da debil...

It's rated M.  Anyone that's playing should be an adult.  The package even mentions that one of the things that gave it that rating is partial nudity.  So, it's not like its a surprise on the most watched TV event in the US.  There shouldn't be anything wrong with showing something that would be relevant in a love scene.

And anyone that brings up those morons on FoxNews (the quoted post didn't, but someone else in another post did) are forgetting that they got trashed online almost as bad as the Ending to ME3 is getting trashed right now.  Has Fox even covered a video game "controversy" since then?

Yes, quite a few times.

Thats what I said in previous threads. The thing is that the game would need to be raised to Rated A.

Most writer's pet accusations with Liara have little to do with squadmate status. They involve her lack of death, frequent plot relevance, forced friendship, and inability to be ignored.
That brings to mind four questions:

1. She wasn't a squadmate in 2, so she obviously couldn't be killed, and she can die in 3.
2. She's a Prothean expert and Protheans are important.
3. She's your expert on the Crucible.
4. What cold bastard would hate and ignore the person who's responsible for you being alive?
This. It sucks for people who don't like her, but every story this complex needs a character to help the protagonist stay informed in the story.  In Star Trek: TNG for instance, it's Diana Troi (who is close to intolerable).  The character is a device to get the protagonist from A to B; Liara's position as the Shadowbroker and Prothean expert facilitates this.  People complain, "why not give multiple people this task, rather than making Liara a 'Mary Sue?'" Well, having one character in this position that is guaranteed to be alive ensures you will always have a way to connect the story.  If you could just pick and choose who could die or get kicked off your ship, like Liara, Bioware would have to record the same dialogue multiple times for different characters as a backup.  That costs money and time, and frankly I would rather see them spend those lines of dialogue on new or other characters than simply on "Liara variants" for the people who didn't like her.

I find it funny, and therefore entertaining.  Besides, onces you've worked as a medical-surgical nurse, nothing is taboo anymore.

The "Does Liara have a Vagina?" thread? Those are the only two I know of.

Liara isn't a commando, she's an asari scientist. I do get the joke, but sorry to say it's irrelevant in this kind of thing :P

There has been nudity in many games.  Privateer 2 (the one with Clive Owen), Heavy Rain, and Duke Nuke'em are a few examples.  Heck, GTA4 had full frontal male nudity, which is much more taboo in the US than breasts.  So, no, it wouldn't warrant an AO (adults only) rated to show a breast in a game.  AO is for graphic sex or truly extreme violence.

To seriously answer your question, OP, Bioware is far too lazy to make turian/quarian nude models, didn't bother to give Miranda/Jack proper scenes at all, and... I'm not really sure about VS/Sam/Steve.

It may be allowable by MSRB standards, but a lot of games choose to avoid it because of the media.  Among the older, non-gamers who run and participate in much of the media, there is still this idea that "games are for kids."  A lot of parents think this way too, and will simply buy any game for their kid off the shelf without a second thought.  One day they walk by and see their kid staring at animated boobs on a screen, and in a raging panic call up the news stations.  Then you'll get the headlines like "Game companies forcing pornography on America's children."

That's the problem, why so perfect?

Number 4. I still can't understand all the hate people throw at her or maybe they don't know that she was the one who saved Shepard when everyone else had already moved on and forgot about him. And no, she isn't perfect at all. If you have played shadow broker dlc than you will now that she is far from perfect. I would say she loves Shepard even if Shepard don't love her back and that makes her quite damaged.

About underwear - why would they? Do you see Hanar wear anything ar all? Different species, different behavior. No need to humanize her.

And +1 internet to person who made joke about asari commando.
