          I think you get this message after you beat the game only if you romance them, but I'm not sure if it is a glitch or not, because I have the app and I never see the message at the beginning, and the one from Ashley is very LI-oriented.

Here are the messages:

Ashley:  "Hey, Skipper. They might actually let me see you today. Hang in there."

Kaidan: "Hey, Commander. Thought I might come down to see you today--if they let me. Here's hoping."

What was the point of this message?  Did they intend some post campaign DLC all along (before Ex cut) and that was a forshadowing/hint for us?  It just seems strange.  

I haven't gotten the message because I had already beaten the game with my canon Shepard and was working on the last few moments of playthrough two when the datapad app was released.

I know right now all we have is lots of speculation, but I want to know: for those of you who have the iOS app, have you recieved the message upon completion of your playthrough after romancing the VS?

Indeed. But since much of the fanbase has no taste and doesn't romance the VS, the message is not as widely read as it should have been. I hope it means something...I really do.

You get it at the beginning (the confusion of when you get the message might be due to starting a NG+ after finishing the game), the jist of it is that you're under house arrest and they need clearance to see you.

Maybe, and I understand the Datapad app is very buggy, but the idea that everyone gets that in a NG+ at the beginning of the game just doesn't make sense to me as far as Ashley's mail goes, since Skipper was the name she gave to Shepard if you romanced her.

And when I started my third playthrough for my canon Shep, I didn't get that message from Kaidan at all, but all the other messages continued to stream in.

Um... I got it at the beginning of my Ashley romance playthrough. =/
