I often play female engineer because it's almost exactly like playing femshep. Really like how the armor looks. For whatever reason, the male version is missing the belt and it looks rather goofy on the back. Looks more effeminate than the female version.

I am now really curious to find out if the male and female humans have the same hitboxes or not... I mean it's clear the female human is very slightly thinner, but whether the hitbox reflects that or not I'm not sure.

Because if I plan to play a game for a lot of time I'd rather do that with a female butt on the screen, rather than a male one.

Main reason I do is because of the third person view. The smaller female model covers less of the left side of the screen providing better visibility. Not sure if the hit box is any different but the added "viewing area" helps keep the tunnel vision at bay.



PS: Stare at digital male ass or digital femal ass for hours on end? ( not much of a question in my book lol )

Maybe its the inner jarhead in me (Military family), but I focus on my target, not my character.  Easier to shoot that way.  

Did not notice that they include enough of the model to show th butt... thought it was more shoulder

I use the female as an "alternate build".  So my male sentinal has tech armor and the female version is respec'd to not have it.   Male infiltrator has a sniper rifle, female infiltrator is a shotgun infiltrator.  That type of thing.

The Human Male character is considerably larger/bigger than the female counterpart. The male takes more of the screen with his shoulder than does the female. This is the only reason i pick female over male, males obstruct or take away too much of the screen, specially the left side.

The reason has always been simple for me, it just my male hormones kicking in that makes me want to stare at a woman than a guy.

However there is another reason, it's actually useful if your are not the same class/race and gender as other players in your group as you can easily figure out the proximity of an incoming wave based on which ingame character talks.

Few player use a human female, so it's easy for me to know if a wave is near me if suddenly I hear the female human character say "spotted them"

I play both. Especially when you can alternate build characters...for example my male HS is a no TA, 0/6/6/6/6 build. Then I read a post on this forum about a better sentinel build with 20% more damage with TA. So then I made my female HS with a 6/6/6/6/0 build to investigate.

The male human vanguard is just too fat on screen so I prefer the female. Other than that I play no female chars except Asari.

I like what they did in MP, two genders means two different specs you can play with.

Females are prettier in this game, I like pretty characters. What's the problem? I play females in every game that doesn't permit me to have pretty male characters.

This must be the first video game you've played online if playing as a different gender is a new concept to you. Some men would rather look at a woman's backside than a mans while playing and some just like trying something new and different. It really doesn't matter. It sounds like you are just upset because every time you see a female toon you hope its a female player you can harass and have gotten very disappointed.

This.  Having different specs is a nice change of pace depending on my mood.

One wonders why the gender of someone else’s avatar should bother you, given all this interest in staring at targets.

Both of my humans on all classes are built differently. It's almost like having an extra character.
