I consider Graal to be completely on par with GPS. I actually started my infiltrator with Graal when I discovered how awesome chargeable weapons are on them, but then switched to GPS only because of one little thing - extra shot, which is imo VERY helpful. Today the second reason is that my Geth infiltrator has 10% bonus damage with GPS over Graal. Now here's the thing - if Graal had 4 shots in one clip instead of 3, I would switch to it with other infiltrator classes except the geth one.

I actually find the Graal awful on the Geth Infiltrator and much prefer the Claymore.

If claymore was a chargable weapon I would consider using it, but it is not. I use ONLY chargable weapons on my infiltrator - GPS/Graal/Kishok. Non-chargable weapons don't compete.

Disagree. Graal is great for combat classes but I prefer an OSOK weapon on an Infiltrator.

Err actually, with the 1 second cooldown power..  You can still get two shots out while you still have the 130% damage bonus..

I don't really see how the Graal is an advanced players weapon and the GPS is more beginner friendly...really, they're both wicked and easy to use. The people hating on the Graal are usually just coming from a place of ignorance. The thing wrecks shop.

I meant to imply that on Bronze and Silver, weapon choice is not that important since everything dies anyway.

I used the Graal constantly until I got my Geth Plasma Shotgun, and I probably will never use it again. While everything you said is valid, I simply cannot play this game with a weapon that requires no latency, as I very rarely have no latency (Minus hosted games). The GPS also has a five round normal shot clip verses the three in the Graal. Making emergency reloads much better, because you have more rounds to single fire with. Regardless, though, its useless most of the time because of my crappy internet...

The GPS is amazing, though, as I can wreck with this thing. Immediately changing from the Graal to the GPS (Graal was rank IV and GPS I) I just murdered the crap out of everything on Bronze and Silver. I can't ever see myself using the Graal again, honestly.

Once you go Gold, you might change your mind.  Especially since the GPS doesn't guarentee a stagger on Phantom's, or regular enemies.

And err, Stardusk was saying that on Bronze and Silver, any weapon will killerate everything.

Thats not true.... And I've played quite a bit of Gold, mind you, not just Silver and Bronze.. I'd play more Gold but the random match ups usually give me HORRIBLE teammates. The Gold matches I do play never have me using any class that would use a Shotgun either.

i totally agree with you stardusk, there is one small problem
on a PC i would have much less trouble doing headshots using a mouse
although i'm playing Console
using a pad is way harder to achieve headshot further than close range, especially with the graal
so to achieve the graal headshoting a lot needs even more training time (and most likely some frustration) than on PC, where personally i prefer having fun with other weapons instead of gimping my team match after match because i cant handle the graal yet.

no matter what, i'll try it a bit more so i might get the hang of the graal and proof your theory

This arguement is retarded. You basically say anyone who doesn't agree is unskilled. I find that I can run through Gold using any weapon and place top 2, usually first yet I don't really like the Graal so that means I am unskilled?

Fair enough. I don't like charging up on the Infi though, just my preference.

No, but what I am saying is that most people complaining about the Graal cannot use it properly because if they could, they would not complain about it.

My thoughts exactly, don't even know why I posted... I like the Graal but the GPS is slightly superior in my opion...

The GPS homes on targets, and does max damage always, without a need for headshot damage, and has more damage per charged shot.  The Graal doesn't, has a lag between the shot and where it hits, and actually does have a headshot bonus, and has less damage per shot, as well as less ammo.

It's very easy to see why people think this way.

GPS staggers more for me.  You can charge it even with 1 shot in the clip.  Put Smart Choke to extend range of GPS; it does work even on GPS

Staggering appears to be a latency issue with Graal.  On local server stagger is fine.  I will simply have to host all the time

If not headshotting Graal does less dps than GPS

Yes, that's true.  But err, the Graal always staggers on a hit, without a charge. This is not the case for the GPS.  Test it out.  You'll see this is the case.

It literally has no headshot damage modifier.

Sure. But the idea that the GPS is just plain better is a fallacy.

No. It's just an opinion, which is essentially valueless in formal logic unless backed up by relevant assertions to a conclusion.

A fallacy is something where the logic does not actually flow -to- the conclusion.

You may feel that the opinion or possibly supporting assertions are wrong, but that does not render the conclusion invalid for people who have that opinion.

(pardon, misuse of that word is a pet peeve)

I personally LOVE the Graal; as soon as I got that thing in singleplayer on my Vanguard, I never went back. So I was thrilled when I unlocked it within the first few days of playing multiplayer. However, since I was almost never host, (takes a while for people to join a game I host) I did horribly with it. I was really confused as to why it was so much worse than the powerhouse it was in singleplayer for me. Then I realized that pretty much any amount of lag kills that thing, same as with Vanguards in general. There was always a big delay with the spikes coming out of the gun and actually hitting the target. Yea, you can still use it effectively against bosses and enemies barely moving, but other than that, I couldn't use it. But whenever I am host, you bet I'll be rocking the Graal!

It makes perfect sense.  All weapons are good on silver and bronze.  You don't see the difference most of the time until gold.

Gps is a lot like the carnifex.  Everyone can use it effectively.  It makes any class instantly viable on any difficulty.  When I scored first with my Krogan sentinel by sniping with the gps and almost nothing else I realized two things.

1. I didn't know how to play a Krogan sentinel.
2. gps is going to get nerfed.

Unless you are Geth, in which case your arguement is invalid.

So you're saying I don't know how to play a Krogan Sentinel? I didn't realize this was the "You're playing Multiplayer wrong" forum..

We are not talking formal logic here, but common parlance and descriptively the use of fallacy is fine. Don't start with me on this, I have advanced degrees in theoretical linguistics.

No guy, you're wrong...The graal is crap...why am i saying this? Because in 90% of online games the connection is not stable enough for it to function properly. If you're host then you're right man it's a beast. But since the conditions have to be perfect i give the notch to GPS.

On solo gold runs i own with the Graal but can't get past the 6th wave lol but on a normal game the GPS is the way to go.

Host= Graal not crap
Not host or average online connection = Crap

But regardless, i enjoy all your guides and build videos, and that 2 man batarian gold run was beast man.

Maybe you should read.  I said I didn't know how to play one.  The point was it takes little skill to be viable with a gps.  The fact that you use a gps does not mean you have little skill.  Please refer to the wikipedia article on logic if this confuses you.
