I love the Graal, and I will quickly agree it is one of, if not the best shotgun in the game. I'm just never host, and trying to kill things with it off host is like trying to get a Democrat to own a .45; it's just not going to happen.

Luckily the Claymore is 100% better than both the GPS and the Graal.

hahaha...

"People complaining about the Graal"

No one is complaining about the Graal, they are complaining about the lag, of which nothing can be done about until regions and latency are in GUI form.

Prefabricated "argument" with a prefabricated outcome, much akin to "let's yell at racists and peadophiles, they suck, who disagrees". Both do about the same damage, one has better tracking and distance use, one has head shot extension minus gating and bleed damage.

They're both fine weapons, and this topic is completely boxoffrogsbatcrackers ridiculous.

There is no controversy and there is no argument.

This topic wasn't about which one was better.  It was "I use the Graal for these reasons."

GPS has that console autoaim thingy, so I always feel dirty using it.

Is Smart Choke worth it on the Graal?

Yes.  That increased accuracy is pretty massive.

Graal gets headshots and GPS doesn't, nuff said. I also prefer the graal because the tavel time of the spikes is quicker than the GPS shot (I think). If they are the same the graal just feels faster to me.

The Graal is faster.  At least if you're not laggin' badly.

You might want to add in the OP that another thing that the two shotguns have in common is that they ignore armor reduction and do not benefit from the shredder mod. After watching Stardusk's videos I gave the graal a shot and was really disappointed. I swear the gun wouldn't hit things even directly in front of me. I'm not sure if it was because I was suffering from lag or I that I am really that bad at shooting but I haven't used it since. Been rocking the GPS on my Krogans and it staggers almost all the time, and it is beastly on my geth infiltrator when I play gold. Those headshots do sound valuable however.

Hit scan weapons are reliable. Non-hit scan tend to have varying degrees of success. ie. you better host if like to hit stuff. GPS is a tad better in games that have slight bit of lag (which is all games, actually) hence it's a fairly popular choice.

I will take claymore X instead, though.

BOOM STICK!

To OP why not the claymore?
I can understand why you prefer the Graal over the GPS though. I personally was using that until I unlocked the claymore.

Fully close range, less stagger ability (I mean, it does stagger, but it can't stagger groups of enemies as fast), weighs a lot more..   We can take care of Phantom's no problem already....

It's a great gun, it just doesnt' seem to mesh as well as the Graal for us Batarian Soliders.

Claymore is not close range exclusive, slap a smart choke V on it and profit.

You're right.  It can do medium range fairly well.  But long range is right out, and one shot clips hurts when we need something to stagger RIGHT GODDAMN NOW!

I think killing something outright beats staggering them myself. Granted this is with an infiltrator but it just deals such massive damage that even at far range I can deal okay damage. It's kind of a waste of ammo though since you only one shot and have to reload.  Guess that's why you rock Graal, the range is pretty sweet.  Seeing the spikes on them is quite rewarding as well lol.

While I can agree but thing is that due to graal being a non-hitscan weapon...actually landing that stagger is pretty much impossible unless you host. This is why I don't like the graal, no gun should be dependant and or crippled by lag. But anyways, you said you play soldier so graal is prolly a better choice I guess.

I favor the Plasma Shotty over the Graal for two simple reasons:

First --- Both fire relatively slow projectiles; with the Plasma Shotty, I can watch their progress through the air, so that if I miss I can see by how much. The Graal's spikes are virtually invisible while in flight. If the spikes glowed blazing orange as the flew (like they do when they impale something) I'd definitely favor it.

Second --- I used the Plasma Shotty all through Mass Effect 2; all of my Shepards more or less had it grafted to their arms. It's fun and stylish, and the lack of headshot capability isn't enough to make me abandon it.

The video with me and Stardusk disagree's.  I had no problem hittin' em, and he's on the other side of the world from me.

I forget that I have the GPS. The Graal is a pure win for me even not hosting. Nothing beats seeing enemies running around with spikes sticking out of them. Thats why I love the harpoon gun so much as well. Seeing a Banshee with a spike/s sticking out of her head is funny!

What video...? No links anywhere.

Anyrate, if its on a console it won't impress me. X-box ME3 is way easier than PC I found.

I would love to use the Graal instead of the GPS for serious matches but unfortunately my GPS is at level VII compared to Graal's I... oh well.. off to bronze!

http://social.biowar...index/11438048  It's the bottom video.  The one that says two manned.

PC.  ANd it's from his perspective, but you can see me using it just fine.  Hell, I ended up outscoring him at the end.

I use the Graal because using the GPS puts me to sleep. It's like I'm not even playing the game when I decide to use the GPS, and I always end up regretting it.

I like both, but I'd only use the graal when hosting.
