I recently got a new video card to replace the onboard one on my machine, but now whenever I try to load an old game or start a new one, the camera constantly spins to the left. I've poked about a bit online and haven't found any solutions. Is there anything here that anyone can suggest?

I am sorry for reviving this thread but, I have found a solution to this elusive problem.
Steam is having a summer sale and as such Jade Empire may be picked up by some new players. As such, you are likely to run into the ever popular problems of the camera looking at the floor and this infernal spinning.
A search on google will net you nothing except acknowledgement that the problem exists. Exiting and starting the game again sometime works but not always. While searching for a more permanent solution I was directed to look at the .ini file. In it I noticed that my USB joystick (Saitek x52) was enumerated. I had not known that this game would be listening to my joystick. It just didn't occur to me. So that brought to mind the problem of deadzones and such. Perhaps, the stick was giving a constant right input (its usually a very tiny amount) but enough to make the game think I wanted to turn right.
So I unplugged the joystick and the spinning stopped.
Therefore, if you are experiencing the spinning camera of dizziness, try unplugging your game controllers or joystick.
Maybe google will pick up this thread and future players can find solace in a solution.
