Edit 2

Kishok has been patched - and it no longer registers headshots vs Ravager, Brute & Banshee ...The damage mechanics stay the same

------------

Testing done on SP - with a Kishok enabled using gibbed's ME3 save editor ...

- ignores armor DR (like GPS)
- ignores shield gatting (like GPS)
- has a *3 HS modifier (this coupled with the relatively high base damage and the shield gate ignoring makes it very effective on gold)
- uses a continous charge modifier (also like GPS) (from 1 to 1.5) ...Releasing trigger before full charge results in a partialy charged shot ...This also means the weapon will only do consistent//repetable damage per shot at full charge(relevant for testing) ...
- RANDOMLY DOES TRIPLE DAMAGE regardless of charge level - reported against certain monster types (ravager during my tests, brute on Tangster's videos , banhsee reported by Elecbender )

Damage formula

BaseWeaponDamage * AmmoPowerMod +
BaseWeaponDamage * 0.8 * ChargeMod * (1+ sum of weapon damage mods)*HSmod+
BaseWeaponDamage * 0.2 * ChargeMod * HSmod

Terms

BaseWeaponDamage * AmmoPowerMod (ammo power damage - unlike graal it is independent from charge level)

HSmod - 3 in case of a head shot, 1 otherwise

BaseWeaponDamage * 0.2 * ChargeMod * HSmod is bleed damage (DOT with 10 second duration applied after projectile impact)

BaseWeaponDamage * 0.8 * ChargeMod * (1+ sum of weapon damage mods)*HSmod - actual weapon damage applied on projectile impact ...

Examples of damage calculation

1) No skill character - Kishok X extended barrel V - fully charged HeadShot

806.8 * 1.5 * 0.8 * (1 + 0.25) * 3 + 806.8 * 1.5 * 0.2 * 3 = 4356.72

2025 health + 2278 shield = 4303 HP gold Geth Hunter

Tangster performed this test - Geth Hunter died of bleed damage ~9 seconds after impact ...

2) 90/40 % cloak infiltrator fully charged body shot from cloak
extended barrel V, Kishok X , 27.5% WD from passives

(806.8 * 1.4 * 1.5 * 0.8 * (1 + 0.25 + 0.9 + 0.275)) + (806.8 * 1.4 * 1.5 * 0.2) = 3625.7592

When the weapon randomly decides to do triple damage - it will 1 hit kill ravagers and brutes on gold ...

As it cannot be made to penetrate objects and hit the Atlas twice with the same bullet, and nobody reported any triple damage incidents vs Atlas - this makes it inferior vs the atlas to the weapons that can penetrate...

3) 90/40 % cloak infiltrator fully charged head shot from cloak
extended barrel V, Kishok X , 27.5% WD from passives

((806.8 * 1.4 * 1.5 * 0.8 * (1 + 0.25 + 0.9 + 0.275)) * 3) + ((806.8 * 1.4 * 1.5 * 0.2) * 3) = 10877.2776

This should be an effective weapon vs Geth Primes

************
EDIT

gold reaper solo video with kishok from GrimyBunyip

As illustrated in the video ... Kishok can score headshots (quite reliably) vs banshees and brutes ... {banshee being the easier target...}

push mouse or controller button. round shoots down range, if you aim well it hits.

Wow, I was literally going to make a thread about why I sometimes get 1 hit kills on ravages and brutes and other times only take off a few bars right before I refreshed and this came up. I just couldn't come up with a clever title :P.

Thanks for the info. The fun is fun to play with. I prefer the short zoom on it compared to the zoom of all other rifles. It's also hilarious to see a Brute running around with 2 giant re-bar rods sticking out of it.

it does 4.5X damage on a headshot only (1.5X for a full charge and 3X for the headshot)

all other shots are pretty useless

That's awesome. Random triple damage? Neat.

And I didn't know that's how Atlases worked. Now it makes sense why the sniper rifles behave the way they do on it.

They really should have brought that guy back for this one! Have him teach another group of newbie recruits.

Its a bug.  It won't be fixed anytime soon.

On another note, a Cloaked headshot to a Banshee on Silver wiped out her barrier along with half her armor.  I must have gotten that random triple damage.  I was so shocked that I consistently missed my shots while a Krogan somehow meleed it to death.

That doesn't appear to be random, I get it whenever I manage to hit her head. Stupid thing always starts some animation when I let the harpoon fly. <_<

1. The other weapons cannot get head shot bonus vs banshee//brute//ravager ...
2. In my tests vs the ravager - the triple damage occured regardless of the body part I was aiming at ..Do ravagers even have a head ?

Ive been able to one headshot phantoms with this at rank 2, without the 40% sniper dmg from cloak, and with only rank 6 passive for dmg, so im guessing that the random triple dmg appears against them too.

not necesarily - this thing does wicked damage on charged headshots  (effectively  *4.5 HS modifier) ...At lvl X It kills  gold geth hunters with a charged head shot with a 0 skill char ...Phantoms have less HP than that ...

yeah i know, but it doesnt always work. Atleast i cant always tell if it was a headshot, because with phantoms sometimes the projectile sticks couple of cm away from their head, so icant tell if i hit them in the head or the neck or some invisible part of the mesh.

And i forgot to mention thats on gold xD

Wait, so other weapons don't get any headshot multipliers against armored reapers? That sure explains a lot. Is there a central thread somewhere with useful tidbits like this?

*Edit*: Also, I seem to get damage multipliers at or near 100% of the time if I hit their little bullseye thing. Problem is going after that I often hit the little tongs on either side, but it's usually obvious when that happens.

True, never doubted that.

I have never done that much damage to a Banshee with a bodyshot. Yet two in the head and she turns to dust.

Its not that the weapons dont get headshot multipliers, some units just dont have their head as a weak spot - banshees, brutes and ravagers, atlases, but all of them except the banshee have other weak spots. Banshees dont have any weak spots according to a bioware dev that posted on the forum.

An interesting side note - While the Kishock cannot penetrate cover due to spawning an object, it does seem to have a very slight amount of innate armor penetration since it can hit Guardians right through their shield.

Distance penetrated  = 0 ...Somehow however it manages to kill Guardians trough their shields ...If only they could complain :)

Nice... I guess I gotta dust that damn Kishok off. Btw, anyone have a lore answer as to where all the ammo for this thing comes from??

Omni tools have some kind of micro fabricator. Maybe the Kishock incorporates one of those?

I kind of think "lore answers" were killed by ME2's fully holographic drones.

Cornucopia technology, eh? Avina lied to us.
