I'm not sure. EA and Bioware, as well as the gaming community as a whole, handled it extremely well. Kind of annoying to see someone taking a shower in their underwear. :/

I inadvertantly broke my relationship with Liara as soon at Samantha stepped into the shower and was suprised by the dumbing down. It was 'artistically done in ME1' so why not in ME3?

I guess blowing off heads is the norm but nudity is no go.

In general I frown on most types of censorship that is decided for me (there are exceptions of course) but in general swearing, gore, and nudity.should be my choice to decide whether I want to see/hear it or not. .

Well, we're all adults for the most part here, and I think even the guys know what breasts look like sans clothes.  But you know the media, they still think videogames are made for pre-teens.  Even the ones that pre-teens aren't supposed to buy.

That said, if Shep is going to wear a bra to bed, couldn't it at least have the N7 logo on it?

I just started Witcher 2 on Xbox. About 5 minutes to the game, I see pubic hair - or at least a texture intended to simulate that. No big deal. Two consentual adults had sex. People have sex naked. They don't take a shower with clothes on.

BioWare's idea that exploding heads are perfectly okay but a simulated nipple will rot brains is just so...PG-13.

Especially when it has no point in the story.....except to master-race to.

Anyone ever think it just makes good business sense when you have worldwide releases. Try selling a game with female nudity in the Middle East. Disclaimer I don't know if they release in the region. It costs money when you have to alter the game to even enter the market so why not plan for that to begin with.

i would have liked to have more mature love scenes (not x-rated) just a more natural depiction along the lines of ME or even a tad more daring. They need not show gentalia or full nudity.

Rubbish - most American movies have nudity and violence in them and some are more graphic than ME3 on both fronts.

This is a mature game series covering content of differing subjects most of which are adult themed (Sacrifice, suicide, torture to name a few).

This is one of the reasons I'm ticked off with how dumbed down ME3 was.
Even without the nudity I still would not allow my 15 year old to play the Mass Effect series
ME2/ME3 are rated 15 and ME1 with the 'nudity' is rated 12 in the UK.

Go figure.

*I am of the firm belief that the the dumbing down is to cater for the 'casual' demographic
I mean no offense to the casual gamer but I see no other reason for it.

As is shown, the 'ratings' make no difference whatsoever.

Add a nudity on/off option in the gameplay menu.

That way everybody's happy!

B/c casual sex is just the thing that the one guy who can save humanity should be doing during a galactic invasion of extinction levels.

One scene just on disk but locked away caused it to be removed from shelves and relabelled AO.  Certain stores would not carry it so they had to make returns on all stock.

games like The Witcher 2 and Heavy Rain have nudity and aren't rated AO

Heavy Rain even has an interactive sex scene and its not rated AO

The simple reason why Sam has underwear on in the shower was because Bioware was either lazy or rush. The fact that Liara, side booty and side boob are shown and the camera angles are just right either says Bioware only had enough time to complete Liara's scene or they just don't care about humans.
