I have nothing agasint nudity, I have somethign against putting in nudity just for the sake of having nudity without serving any purpose.

I really could care less if there is nudity in the game. I'll take romantic conversations over random sex scenes any day of the week in an RPG. Traynor's conversation about picket fences tells me far more about Traynor, the relationship, and everything else important than any shower scene, with or without undergarments.

As do I, but it has to be good writing and voice acting.  I like 95% of the this in the ME series, but when it comes to the romance.....the delivery, voice acting and writing mostly in Shepards parts it's just not there

I roll my eyes most times when I hear him say something "romantic".  I guess it has to do with the strange facial expressions that go along with it.

Something just doesn't fit.

in a nut shell, you don't have to show full frontal nudity, how many love/sex scenes have you seen in the moves or TV where clearly both parties are naked but you don't actually get to see any rude bits.

Witcher2 (EU) vs ME3 (US) would appear to support that statement.

Well this is why nudity is frowned upon. Watch and enjoy. Laughing might help too.

Lots of horny adolessents came into Mass Effect 1 hoping for full frontal nudity, and sleeping with every alien in the galaxy. Then they played the game. Lots of dissapointment followed.

Then when Mass Effect 2 & 3 came out, the series was further "sexed down".

Having a shower with underwear on really was stupid.

Are you talking about Traynor?

That shower is cramped as it is with only one person. Add a second and it's just plain uncomfortable. Seriously haven't people heard of a bed? No?

I turned down the Samantha Traynor proposition. Ruined a perfectly respectable character for me.
I hear that in Mass Effect 2 your Yeoman does the Omega/Choras Den dance.

You get a romance trophy for Samantha Traynor's shower scene? That's not a romance.
My brother described it as porn. All be it soft porn. But not a romance. There is no actual chemestry being built up. Just lets met up in the cabin and fondle in the shower.

Yes, everything you say is true.

Furthermore, having a shower with underwear on really was stupid.

You mean you people have baths and showers nekkid? How appalling...

Anyway the nookie in ME games was hardly as graphic as DA:O (even without a certain mod). I just wanted to see what quarians looked like entirely (they'd probably just use a photo of a pr0n star I imagine. with the limbs badly photomanipulated...)

There wasn't even full-frontal nudity in ME1. Just some sideboob.

Which only makes us wonder even more why the prudish approach was made. ME2 felt like a PG13 sequel to an R-rated movie (which in many respects it was) -- painfully compensating for the lack of nudity and graphic sex with offscreen violence (Burn, Vido!) and coarse language. ME3 takes a step in the right direction, but I think that outside of a few "dren"s, there isn't a single "frell" anywhere in ME3. Similarly, only Liara's sex scene contains actual nudity which only underscores how painfully lacking it is in all the others. Particularly Tali's and Traynor's. Illogical.

I would find it more important to remove the exploding skulls rather than cut the boobage. Boobs never made anyone go out there into the wild and give gamers a bad rep, we get it for exploding skulls all the frelling time.

While I certainly don't need, like, hardcore porn in my video games, there has to be a middle line between that and between taking a freaking shower with your underwear on.

I mean, come on. That's just ASKING to be mocked, because it's so insanely ridiculous.

I think Liara's scene in ME3 was a pretty decent middle ground. A shame none of the other romances options got anywhere near the same treatment Liara did.

This. Female Shep with kaiden was a pretty good scene, pretty damned sexy lingerie, but yeah, liara and femshep w/ kaiden are the only good scenes...I dont know what the big deal is, lets all take a look at the witcher two, several full nude love scenes, this was known before it got ported to 360, and it still sold very well.

God of War (US) - nudity would appear to counter your arguement

plus ME3 is Canadian, not US and if your talking about publishing companies M$ is an American company and it published Witcher2

Didnt they make an 18+ and a "low" sex scene version of Witcher 2? (could also be be Witcher 1)

I remember there being 2 different kind of sex cards

I had a problem with a fully clothed Shepard getting into a shower with an underwear wearing Traynor. For one thing it came off as poorly directed soft-core porn. It was clearly an unfinished, after thought.

I know nudity can be done right. If I took that same scene, I wold first have given better dialogue leading up to it. But once in the shower... first rule... they are both nude at this point. But you frame the shots so you don't get into trouble, if that a concern.

Example:

Traynor is in the shower. We see no hint of a bra or panties still being on because... who takes a shower in those things?

female Shepard (who this happened to with me) comes on to Traynor.

Camera cuts to low shot, at Shepards feet. She is walking toward the shower as she is removing her uniform. Blouse falls on the floor. Bra falls on the floor. Pants come off. As this is happening we see a very blurred vision of all flesh toned Traynor in teh background as she showers.

Scene cuts Shepard behind Traynor. Hugs and kissing. camera cuts to Shoard hand on skin and only skin. water run over and through her fingers and onto Traynor skin. Camera cuts again to soap finger interlocking. You get several shot, so close to teh skin to skin that you can;t really tel what you are looking at. You might get a safe below the breast to the waist shot. More scenes of face to face. Never are you insulted with teh fact that two grown women would wear their clothing in the shower. It is a nude scene , but you have not even seen the crack of a butt.

Do a scene like this for Tali, near the end. We get Shepard hands gliding on her nude back, caressing her as they talk. It is something like what tehy did with their hands in ME2 during that love scene. I would like to see the face but kind of getting even a little of Quarain skin out in the open, and being touched, would have been tasteful, yet pretty erotic too. It might almost be spiritual considering Tali particular situation. You would not have to show anything to give the idea that these people are nude... when people usually are being nude. Just be smart with your camera angle and you get the best of both worlds.

At least society keeping nudity taboo makes it more interesting.  If nudity was as common in media as gore, porn would be useless.

I don't get why they chickened out on showing tasteful ME1 style semi-nudity to avoid controversy, but they included M/M gay relationships in ME3, which I thought would have been much more controversial in America. I also don't get why they can't show a human boob yet at the same time they insisted on thrusting hundreds of Banshee nipples in our faces.
